Flourish and Blotts is wanting to have a Book Launch, something new and innovative. What would entice people to come in and 'sample' the book(s)? All interns are invited to work with the Events Team and bring their 'thinking cap'! (No, don't bring the Sorting Hat!)
Come join in with the Events Team and dream up ideas for organizing a Book Launch! Which book will you focus on or will you do a 'blanket' enticement? ("Read books! Improve your mind!") Maybe you could have something about where the book launch will be held and why. Will there be food and/or goodie bags available (enticements to come to the launch)? What kind of activities might there be? (Pin the tail on the dragon?)
What's the schedule? Will it start in the morning and last through the whole day? Or will it be an 'evening' event?
How would it be advertised? (If you do this, though, remember to still have most of your focus on the event itself.)
Be aware that your post should be of at least 100 words.
Post your ideas for helping to organize this book launch by 11:59 PM (HOL time) October 26th. You'll earn 20 beans on the completion of this task.
Have fun!

Re: Events Department -- Organizing a Book Launch
Flourish and Blotts is graciously accommodating the book launch of The Mystic Menagerie to take place after hours, from 6 PM to 9:30 PM. Our first event activity will be a short book reading by the author herself, Eliza Wheelsburgh. Gift bags will be handed out at the end of the reading, including stickers, bookmarks, and other items inspired by the book's magical creatures and characters. After that, children and adults alike can explore the family-friendly fun set up for the event. To capture the zoo element of the book, sections of the store will be dedicated to one of the magical creatures, offering fun facts and interactive activities. There will be a magical creature trivia game every 30 minutes, with winners offered a signed edition of the book. Food and drinks will be provided, inspired by magical creatures, such as Mooncalf Milkshakes.

Re: Events Department -- Organizing a Book Launch
For this event, the team at Flourish and Blotts will host an immersive moonlit launch for Whispers Beneath the Waxing Moon by Elsbeth Graeves. The shop will be transformed into a shadowy fen at twilight, complete with enchanted mist, flickering lanterns, and faint ghostly whispers drifting between the shelves. Guests will receive a “Protection Charm” goodie bag containing a mini lantern charm, a bookmark of warding symbols, and a small vial of “moonlit ink.”
The evening begins at 7:00 PM with spiced cider and starlight tarts, followed by a dramatic reading from Graeves herself, accompanied by soft violin and subtle illusion magic. Afterwards, attendees can explore “The Haunted Archive,” a display of objects and manuscripts that inspired the stories.
Advertising will appear through The Daily Prophet and Enchanted Wireless spots, teasing: “Step into the mist… if you dare. One night only at Flourish and Blotts.” The event promises mystery, folklore, and just enough fright to keep guests enchanted all night long.

Re: Events Department -- Organizing a Book Launch
Continuing the story of Auroras and Antlers.
Flourish and Blotts will host a magical night event to celebrate Auroras and Antlers by Aksel Korhonen! The shop will be transformed into a Lapland winterland. A magical spell will fill the ceiling with auroras in greens and purples. With some other finicky spells, the air will sparkle with falling snowflakes, and glowing reindeer tracks will appear and vanish across the floor.
Guests will be greeted by volunteers and staff dressed as snow sprites and offered mugs of Frost Elk Cocoa (ordinary cocoa) that will emit puffs of silvery mist, taking on shapes from the book. Children, or those who want to try their hand at crafts, can participate in a Crafting Corner, where they can create miniature, glowing antlers. There'll also be a scavenger hunt through the store to uncover excerpts from the book.
The event will end with the author’s live reading, and every guest will receive a goodie bag. They'll include Lapland bookmarks, aurora-themed sweets, and a shiny trinket.
