Allergies!
Are you allergic to anything? Is it food related or maybe something completely different?
If you don't have any allergies, do you know someone who does? How do they manage it?

Re: Allergies!
I am allergic to eating carrots. I know that it sounds like a funny coincidence to be saying it on a day after Easter Day (I am thinking about the Easter bunny, : P) but I have vomitted whenever I have eaten carrots ever since I was little, although I haven't been officially diagnosed yet. I was also born with lactose intolerance, although I can now digest milk and milk products in small quantities, at age 26, : P : D. : D.
Other than these medical allergies, I am allergic to people who assume that they know me without talking to me, : P, just call that a pet peeve. I think that isn't an allergy, : P. : D : ).

Re: Allergies!
I was allergic to two things: dust mites and cats. With cats being my favourite animal, and my future career as a veterinarian, I couldn't stand to be allergic to them. So, I underwent immunotherapy. A serum was made with my specific allergens and slowly over 3 and a half years, I increased my tolerance. Now, I have a cat and I'm not allergic anymore!

Re: Allergies!
I'm allergic to dust, pollen, and both cats and dogs. I really is a big bummer for me, because cats are my favorite animals and I love to spend time with my two cats. I've tried pretty much every allergy medication on the planet, and finally found a nasal spray that has worked very well for me (Flonase for anyone curious). I don't even have to use it every day anymore; I only use it now when I'm feeling an allergy attack coming on.

Re: Allergies!
I do not have any allergies as such, but I tend to get allergic dust rhinitis or sinusitis in the spring. It could be pollen/dust allergy, because both are abundantly found in the air during the spring season. I haven't yet got an official allergy report made, because my symptoms are not that severe, but it is just one of the possibilities.

Thank you so much to my secret elf for my siggy, Happy New Year 2025!

Re: Allergies!
I've never been tested but I don't think I have any allergies. I have brothers who are allergic to things. One brother is allergic to cats. My other brother is also allergic to cats but also dogs, American Elm trees, moths, and mold.
For his pet allergies, he just takes allergy medicine when he needs it because he loves cats and dogs and has some haha. His other allergies aren't to bad and never really come up at all haha

Re: Allergies!
I am severely allergic to pollen and then aspirin which can be found in most cold and pain meds. I would really struggle to breathe if I go to the family farm and there is a lot of pollen in the air. We got married there and I had to drink medicine to cope for the special day.
Medium allergies would consist of things like dust. Minor reactions to pet hairs. Especially cats but I have read it is their saliva and not the fur/hairs itself so one can work around it. These are allergies I happen to discover and come across so if there are more then I wouldn't know since I wasn't tested.

Re: Allergies!
True to character, I have rather oddly specific allergies. I am allergic to anise/star anise and Stevia.

It's such an odd allergy, but my mom, my sister, and I, all are allergic to Latex. It isn't severe, but most things in hospitals, like gloves or band-aids, could lead to a minor reaction. We've also found it's in some foods! I like avocados, bananas, and kiwis.

Re: Allergies!
To the best of my knowledge and after having allergy tests, I do not have any allergies. There are several people in my family that do. My sister is severely allergic to bee stings. I believe she went through some immunotherapy for it and she does carry an epi-pen. One of my nieces is allergic to cats, dust, and ragweed. But since we have cats she gets symptoms after visiting us and has to take allergy medication.
Re: Allergies!
I don't have any confirmed allergies but I have a few possible ones, that I just haven't gone near to find out. I have a family history of being allergic to penicillin, and also bee/wasp stings (yes, I've never been stung, and I really don't want to be and have to find out whether I'm allergic too). I also have recently developed a possible allergy or intolerance to hazelnuts (it's not horrific, but I miss Nutella.)

A huge thank you to my secret elf for the sig!

Re: Allergies!
I'm allergic to pollen :/
I have allergic conjunctivitis and blepharitis, but both are very mild, and the conjunctivitis usually lasts only in the spring-summer months. I take eye drops for it and that mostly fixes it.
The blepharitis is very mild but still annoying, and kind of year-long. I could take medicines for that too, but I just can't bring myself to do it. I've developed a habit to pick at my eyelashes though, so I'm trying to not do that.
