Old Toys

Post by Gail Allen »

I've been doing some cleaning lately - and by that I mean some serious cleaning, going through a lot of the boxes that have been stored in the attic from my childhood and found... a lot of toys - Who'd have thought.
Most of them I've now either donated or thrown out depending on their condition, but there are a few that I still hang on to because they mean something very special to me and it made me think that I can't be the only one who feels an attachment to certain old toys and teddies.
And it made me wonder; What toys do you guys hold on to? And which toys do you wish you still had, but have lost at some point or another (I know there were a few I specifically *didn't* find and that was quite sad). And why are these special to you?

I was recently cleaning out my garage and came across my old toys, my brothers old toys and my husband's. When they saw the toys again, these two fully grown men sat an hour just playing with their toys and telling each other about them. I myself had some heartfelt memories to share about my animal toy collection and was happy to know my toys where going to one of my little ones who absolutely loved them due to her vast love for any living creature.

I will never sell nor get rid of my extensive Beane Baby collection -_- I have been collecting since the late 90s, and have since had to put them all in storage, however when I bring them out to add to the collection and to take pictures, it makes me so happy seeing them all together!

I don't have an official count but its definitely in the hundreds, less than 500 though. I don't plan on ever stopping collecting them, ha!
