The Wolf - Nate Blakeslee

Post by Louis Walles »

Title of the book: ''The Wolf'

Authors: Nate Blakeslee

Genres: non-fiction

Short summary of the story:
When in 2012, one of the most famous and recognisable wolves in the Yellowstone Park, O-Six, was killed by an anonymous hunter, the world went furious. This book is a story of how the humankind and the government tried to bring back, then destroy, and then, again, bring back wolves in three US states - Montana, Idaho and Wyoming, states where the Yellowstone National Park is located in. It tells a story of compassion and hatred towards wolves and their protection as endangered species across the USA.

Good points / bad points:
The book intrigued me, showed me how much some people can despite the animal they know so little about. This book helps readers to visualise and understand the dull and long process to protect the wolves and their rights. I loved the non-judgmental analysis in the book, the well-researched material by the author. Highly recommend.
