Book Bout - Prompts

Each prompt can only be used once and you can't use more than one prompt for a single book. Please keep in mind the posting guidelines from the Overview thread and remember to update your sign up post with details. This should include a brief justification about why you think a prompt fits your particular book; for instance, were someone to say that Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets fit the prompt about unusual modes of transportation, they could say 'It features a flying car'.

• A book with a direction in the title
• A book set in a different time period
• A book set on another planet
• A book featuring a ship
• A book with a map anywhere in it
• A book with many different settings or locations
• A book set in a country you'd like to visit
• A book about a scientific discovery
• A book featuring a navigator or map maker
• A book featuring a first contact with aliens
• A book where the protagonist must retrieve something
• A book where language, translation and/or interpretation are important
• A book about a character moving to a new place
• A book featuring a station of some kind
• A book featuring time travel
• A book with a journey in the title
• A book featuring a forest/jungle
• A book featuring pirates/bandits
• A book about a culture other than your own
• A book featuring a non-human perspective
• A book involving a story within a story
• A book featuring a long journey
• A book involving an unusual mode of transportation
• A book in a genre you don't usually read
• A book written in a style or format that is unfamiliar to you (such as verse or a play script)
