My character's name is Victoria Jasper which isn't even close to what my real name is. But, she is the first RP character that I created in the Potter verse back in '01 and the first RP character I've ever created who I can say is living in my head along with myself. At times, I feel that I know Viki better then I know myself - but then I just realize that she is me being who I wish I could be. Since '01 she's been the main character in my HP fanfic and has also been my inspiration for some poetry that I've written. Yeah, nothing exciting but I do feel a close bond to the name; and I couldn't think of a better name to use when joining this site. Of course now, I may have to do some re-writing of her history since she got placed in a different house then her RP/fanfic character!

My first name, Keladry, came from a favorite book. It's been my net-name forever, too. My last name, DeSympo, I just made up. For some reason, I wanted it to have two capital letters /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> . I don't know why. So thats my name.

let's see...

well....for some reason, i have ALWAYS loved the name Jessamyn. I didn't even know it existed when I started using it. And then I looked it up on a site, and found out it does exist. It's derived froom Jasmine, and, well...I don't really know what it means =/ and people can just call me Jess!
And Cats, well, actually my real last name is Katz, and I actually wanted it to be that, but I ended putting Cats for some reason lol

so that's it!

so what are your names?

Hey all...

I chose the first name "Opal" because I really like pretty rock type objects... but "Diamond" is too common, and I don't like the color red, so I could hardly be a "Ruby".

I've been using the name "Curare" for a while, ever since we had to pick names for Spanish class sophomore year. Translated, it means "to cure". And it sounds cool =D

Well, I'm a history buff. I LOVE history. And, plus, Alexandra is Greek for "Defender" and my friends always say that fits me perfectly. And "Black" is one of my favorite colors! LOL

My name's story isn't very original...

When I was younger I began to write stories and I decided to take a nickname. I finally choose an anagram of my real name: Lorélia Chell!

good luck to guess what my real name is... (a clue, I'm French)

There is not much of a story behind my name, only this:

Brenna is a name I fell in love with years ago when a woman named Brenna appeared on a certain Star Trek episode. Also, I've been on a celtic/all things Irish kick lately, and it just seemed perfect.

Westfeld is actually German for west field. I spent some time in Germany, and really enjoy the language. Plus, it kind of describes where I'm from geographically in my hometown.

Some of the name explanations are really intereresting! I can't wait to read more.

Hehe, well, I am pretty much in love with Norway and the Norwegian culture, and since JKR mentions Norway a few times with respect to the wizarding world, I wanted to make my character Norwegian. "Sofia" means "wisdom", which fits a Ravenclaw perfectly. And "Andersen" was sort of a random choice, but it's "son of Anders", which is the Scandinavian form of Andrew, which is the name of the-guy-I'm-in-unrequited-love-with, lol. /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

My real name is Tricia, but here it is Isabella. I supposed I choose the name because Isabella is a beautiful name and I've liked it ever since I learnt about Isabella Queen of Spain. And the last name Kings is from one of my best friend's last name and always thought the two names together sounded great /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Tania was derived from Titania (Midsummer Night's Dream was the first play I was ever in, back in fifth grade) and Hapsic is the surname of a friend of mine, my parents both completely stinking, I decided to use the name of a semi-functional family.

Well, I have this obsession interest in looking up baby names and their meanings /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> , despite the fact that I am only 16...what can I say, I like to plan ahead! /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

So, "Li", a name of chinese origin, means "strength", something that I take pride in knowing I have and I think is an important quality in any woman. /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> I changed the spelling to "Leigh" because I like it better and is a more North American spelling.
"Adara", a greek name, meaning "beauty", is actually a first name, but I liked the way Leigh Adara flowed. I'd like to think that beauty is a quality I posess and, of course, everyone is beautiful in their own rite, some (like me) need that little reminder sometimes.
So my HOL name was created through my own creativity, i didn't just throw it together and every time I see it I feel good about myself knowing that I created it based on me and the things that I am...strong and beautiful! /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Isabella was the name of my great-grandmother - and, had she not resented it so much and forbidden my parents from naming me after her, it would have been my name too. I've always loved the name, and hope to have a child of my own called that someday. Even if he's a boy. Ahem.

As for Wickham, I've loved that surname ever since I first read Pride and Prejudice. Of course, I loved the character too, but mostly the name. I've used it countless times on various characters since.

My name's ok, but I don't like it too much. However, I'm so used to people calling me that on here that I'm not gonna change it. This is kinda stupid...

The actress who plays Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter movies is named Emma Watson.
So there you go.

But that's not my name in real life. In real life my first name isn't Emma and my last name isn't Granger.

Stiver has been a work in process for me throughout most of my writing life. Scine as far back as I can remember I have been making up wild stories about Stiver(only a two letter difference from my real name of Steven, making it easy to relate to my character without it actually BEING me). After my many short stories involving my alter ego hero, I then made him into my usernames for everything. That made it an easy choice for a first name.
For a last name I had never thought of one and almost panicked when I saw that it was perfered to have one. With a randomness that my brain does(sometimes a good thing, sometimes...not so much) I went back to the old K-9 Cop show(whoa...o i know not many have thought about that one in a while...if they knew it to begin with) where the name of the cop who had the dogs last name was Dietz. lol ya..i know...I'm weird...
