I'm a big fan of a couple of them, actually. I love the Aubrey/Maturin series by Patrick O'Brien...they're sea novels and I love them. Another sea novel series I love is the Horatio Hornblower series by C.S. Forrester, though I think that an author as fantastic as him could come up with a more flattering last name for his main character hahaha. I've loved the Chronicles of Narnia since I was little and recently re-read them. They're AWESOME, especially The Horse and His Boy . Finally the Georgia Nicholson series...they're HILARIOUS (though I'm not sure guys would like them...)!

I'd have to say either the Harry Potter books or any of the series by Tamora Pierce. All of her books are so good! But so are the HP books... So I guess it's a tie!

Signature made by me. PM me if you want one! (I can't do animation yet, though. Sorry!)

Haha, now HERE'S a topic I can reply a lot to...I've been reading since I was three, and I still love it to this day. =)
Now, Harry Potter obviously comes in very close to the top. It astounds me to this day how Jo manages to be such a wonderful writer, with a unique plot, and yet is still so mysterious! Us poor readers have to expect the unexpected...it's quite crazy, if not a bit exhausting. I don't mind, though...whenever I find a clue or foreshadowing, it amazes me. I have no idea how she does it.
[/fangirl rant]
Now, among my other favorites are The Guardians of Time Trilogy (I noticed someone else here mentioned it...yay!). I can't even point out specific things that I liked about it...it was just so AWESOME! Though I think how the prophecy tied in was a pretty nifty aspect...
Let's see, what else. Ah, yes, A Series of Unfortunate Events. I actually really liked that series. For some reason, though, when I got to "The Austere Academy", I couldn't get into it, and haven't read one since. I should probably pick them up again...I'm running out of reading material...o_o;
I also saw someone mentioned A Great and Terrible Beauty--another one of my all-time favorites! I'd wanted it forever, and my friend got it for me last Christmas...<3333. Then it's sequel, Rebel Angels came out, which was equally fantabulous. The only thing I don't like about them is the ENDINGS! Argh! And I don't think there's a third one...=/
When I was younger, I read the Boxcar Children. Wow, I loved them! I think I've read them all...well, almost. After a while, though, they were kind of getting cheesy for my age, so I haven't read them in a few years.
As for Meg Cabot--*SQUEE!* J.K. Rowling is the only one who surpasses her in my Favorite Authors List! I actually haven't gotten to The Princess Diaries yet, but I've heard they're great, and I don't doubt any of Meg Cabot's work...I love the Mediator Series, and "All-American Girl". XD
We had to read "The Dark is Rising" for school two years ago...I skimmed through it, because I was crunched on time, but now that I think back on it, I think I want to read the whole series...the distant memories of it seem cool...haha.
I feel like I might get mobbed for the next sentence...but I haven't ever read Bartemaeus or Narnia or...Lord of the Rings. *Gets bowling pins and various sorts of rubber ducks chucked at head* Ah! I know! As a Ravenclaw it's like, a sin, but...the most I've done is watched the movies and fawned over Legolas. ^^

That's it! See, at first, I thought it was hate too.
Hate was all I knew, it imprisoned me, taught me how to eat, how to drink, how to breathe.
I thought I would die with all the hate in my veins.
But then, something happened. It happened to me, just as it happened to you.

Ummm...its so difficult to place a favorite book series because I've read so many I've just adored to pieces (or would that be read to pieces? /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" /> ) but if I had to say my first ever favorite I would say the Narnia series by C.S. Lewis. It is because of this series that I love reading scifi and fantasy books so much! If you've never had the chance you really should read these books, they are for younger readers but they do seem ageless to me....

I'd have to say that my favorite series would have to be Harry Potter of course, followed by the Chronicles of Narnia, then the Eragon series, and then the Series of Unfortunate Events. I love all kinds of books.

Yes, yes, we all know HP, LotR, etc. are great books... And should be read, there's no debate about that.
My favorite accumulated series is written by Mercedes Lackey, and includes multiple trilogies, single novels, and related works of fiction. I love the world she creates, it is so tantalizingly real.
A close second to Mercedes Lackey is the trilogy written by Jacqueline Carey, which consists of Kushiel's Dart, Kushiel's Avatar, and Kushiel's Chosen. Wonderful books, yet not exactly PG.
Also, the Vampire Cronicles by Anne Rice. =D

Okay, I know I already posted but a friend of mine introduced me to a wonderful series so I thought I'd share. It's called 'The Raven' (at least I think that's the english title...) by James Barclay.
Wonderfully written, very nice main characters, good storyplots. The only 'drawback': it's still WIP (okay, not really a drawback, I know, but I was thinking about those chliffhangers...*rubs already aching arms* /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />)
