Helloo! My name is Cliodne Atherton (real name Lorena), and I'm from England! Although my family are Portuguese and I often visit them. In fact, I'm still not quite sure why my parents moved to the UK. Still, I might as well tell you lot something about me-
Hair: Black, usually plaited
Skin- Darkish tan
Eyes- Brown
Freckles- One big one on my cheek. I'm proud of that freckle.
Ok so just imagne a typical Portuguese/ Spanish kind of person and you get the picture.
I'm in Ravenclaw, and am proud of it (although it was almost a bit of a fiasco for me to even sign up for HOL /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":rolleyes:" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />. Long story- but thanks again Emma for helping me out, I appreciate it *g*)
My favourite colours are yellow and orange, and I love running, and I think Pingu's cool. Also I love banana sandwiches (yum) and vegetable cutney (double yum). I've been vegetarian since I was a little kid and I'm proud of it. I also speak Portuguese and French fluently, and I'm learning German and Japanese (I just have a thing about languages).
I love travelling, and jetting off to other countries (I've only been abroad once actually apart from Portugal, or Birmingham if you'd call that another country -JOKE- no insult meant to all you Birmies out there. Birmingham is actually quite cool.) But still I already see myself as a fully fledged traveller. However I've always had a bit of a problem with aeroplanes. It's not that I'm scared of them, it's just that I'm too plain clumsy. Last time I tried to get out of my seat when we touched down at Faro airport, I slipped down the front of my seat and got stuck, dropped my hand luggage and scraped my arm nastily trying to pick it up from under the seat, then stood up and bashed my head on the sharp bit at the edge of the gangway. Then of course I almost knocked some poor soul over when I tripped near the exit to the plane. He almost fell out /sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" /> . that was actually quite scary, if I'd tripped over half a metre closer to the door...
Anyway at school I'm even clumsier. In one year I've broken my arm falling over, hit a nerve in my back and been unable to talk for twenty minutes and being short of breath in drama lesson (I almost went to hospital), twisted my ankle twice (the same one), and cut, bruised and grazed myself literally every day. Oh well, I suppose at least it gives me harder skin than most, and I suppose I'm tougher. but it still hurts /sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />.. Also my clumsiness give me a bit of a problem when we do practical activites at my school, which we do a lot of in Science, DT, System Control etc. I go to Grammar School, so generally you're expected to be able to hold a test tube without smashing it. I burnt one of my friend's hands with acid once- it was red for a fortnight ot more. She still works wants to work with me though. Wonders never cease.
I'd better stop writing now before I write my autobiography (I get a bit carried away sometimes- it's always a bad idea to ask me to write 2000 words on something, I'll end up going loco and doing 10000 odd) . Thanks for letting me tell you some pointless things about me,

My Patronus takes the form of an owl. I suppose it is because of my wise, mystical and knowledgable traits, and the fact that I am in the house of Ravenclaw. I also wear glasses (like in my avatar) that may make me look a bit like an owl (one of my friends called me a 'wise old owl' once, when I did her French homework for her, but that was only because I speak French already!). Maybe, with the owl often being symbolised as the Spirit of Death and change, my Patronus and I may be fortelling the death of someone among us, but please do not ignore and shy away from me because of this! I suppose you can call to me for information and guidance, I will always provide you with what I know, and I hope you will see the 'ancient knowledge' hidden deep within my pupils and take it for what it is, just truths, not as my being the Grim Reaper. /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

I am a writer, a reader and a dreamer. I hate driving (its too boring) love public transportation (its so much fun to people watch).
I love to travel, although I get very seasick, so that whole 'crossing the Irish Sea' thing was really not fun. I've been throughout the US, and to England, Ireland and Wales. Not Scotland though, perhaps next summer if my boss gives me a nice fat raise.... *looks around hopefully*
My favorite colors are purple and yellow (and they're complimenary too!) I can't spell worth anything, and my grammar is only so-so.
Lets see here, I plan to major in secondary social studies education, but my minor is undecided (much to the annoyance of friends and family). I have studied Spanish since sixth grade and after all of those many, many, many long years my ablitly is so poor and pronunciation so bad that I refuse to go to any Spanish speaking countries out of fear of making a fool of myself. (But my friends tell me that that dosn't stop me from muttering to myself in spanish....oops) I've signed up for a french class later this year so my fingers are crossed hoping that I'll fare better with french than spanish.
I am a very unsure newbie, but I have loved Harry Potter for the past, wow, has it been nearly 5 years now? I started to get involved with the online Harry Potter community about a year and a half ago, and am an avid fanficiton reader, and a dabble with a bit of writting, but I enjoy reading more.

I'm terribly excited to be here at Hogwarts, my grandmum was a witch , but my mum a squib and I wasn't sure if I'd get in or not! But here I am, and quite extatic.
I've signed up for Handwriting Analysis, Home Potions, and the Dreamscapes class. All of which looked interesting, and useful. There where so many classes to chose from though, it was hard to make a decision!
I'm in Griffindor of course, and very thrilled to be chosen for such a grand house. I come from Wales, but sadly can not speak that wonderful language, and my family is Welsh and Cornish. Not much magic in the family, it seems to skip a few generations.
In fact not much of anything happens in my family. I'm quite a daydreamer, and being brought up in the country has found me wandering the fields and tramping about quite often. I'm very glad that the grounds here at Hogwarts are very extensive, so as I can continue to enjoy nature in times of musing.
Anyway, I don't know anyone here, and although I am not shy, I don't make friends very easily, and would greatly appreciate if there is anyone around who'd like to take a walk with me sometime. Especially Griffindors, as I would love to make some friends with whom I could share a dorm in the tower.
Nice to meet you all, and I hope to get to know some of you better!

A neighbor child leant me his copy of Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone and I was hooked! I am looking forward as are all of you to joining in on all the fun and classes.

Im Catleen Lee, a fun and constantly hyper person who makes spelling mistakes (not on purpous mind you) and loves to draw manga/anime. I also love Harry Potter (the books). I think Im might make a good contribution to this board, and hope one day to be a proffesor of something. I'll half'ta register for that however (I need to wait till december ..... whaaa!). I was also curious if on this board I could make little things that are describing my actions, for example:
I love green egges and ham! *hug the green egges and ham*
I haven't had a problem with that on other boards, and I am just clearifing the rules so.... please don't hurt me!!! (yes, i read the hand book.)
