Book Review - Seoul Cinderella

Post by Silvana Mandeville »

Title: Seoul Cinderella
Author: Lia Indra Adriana
Genre: Romance & Drama
Language: Indonesian

Short Summary: Nia is an Indonesian girl who graduated from college and went to Korean to work as a housemaid.

Good and Bad Points: The first lesson from this book is don't trust people easily, especially if you live in someone else's country. This book is about a common love story that I have often read in romantic and teen books or seen in Korean dramas. A story where an ordinary girl meets a handsome, rich, but quite intimidating yet romantic young man. The girl was obsessed with Cinderella story, she even told the young man that her name was Cinderella when she was dranks. It starts with a love-hate relationship, when Nia is appointed to be Hyun Jun's housemaid, and as expected that later they would fall in love with each other. The ending wasn't satisfying because it lacks conflict and leaves us hanging in the end. Everything was happened too fast, even though there are ridiculous scenes which leave me laughing. It's a good book for those who want to read something light and easy, and for those who love to live in their own fantasies and don't want to bother themselves by thinking about something logical. Though, the author shows her cleverness in her writing by introducing some detailed information about Korean from the eyes of a newcomer.
