Prompt: Business Cards

Throughout the various books we've read, we've been introduced to a diverse cast of characters. Each has their own distinct personality and interesting skills that enable them to get the job done. Imagine for a moment that characters across literature interacted with each other off the page (perhaps they're gathering at the Institute of Inspirational, Infamous and Outrageous Fictional Folk ). As they meet each other, they might provide the other character with a business card should they require assistance in some quest or mission further down the line.

This month we’d like you to design a business card for a fictional character of your choice. Be sure to include details such as their name, job/skillset and some method of contacting them. Get creative with fonts and colours, such as by tying them in with the character's personality or the setting they're from.

Your work needs to be original, taking something off the internet and claiming it as your own is plagiarism. Remember to keep everything HOL appropriate, adhering to all HOL rules, and please keep your submissions 600x600 pixels or smaller. Please also include a short description of your image.

You'll earn 20 beans for completing this prompt as well as it counting towards the chance to snag our shiny Ink Splatters Award.

There is no deadline as such for these prompts but if you’d like it to count towards your chance of earning the award for a specific year, we’ll need it by the end of that school year. [Prof. Scarlet Leslie-Lewis]

This is a business card for Cimorene, a princess of Linderwall and the future Queen of the Enchanted Forest. At this point, Cimorene is the Chief Cook and Librarian for Kazul, the King of Dragons. Her card has a crossed whisk and spatula in the upper right hand corner as well as a row of books along the bottom. The dragons live in caves in the Mountains of Morning located near the Enchanted Forest.

This is a business card for Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency from the book of the same name by Douglas Adams. The card has a yellow background with four part orange-y circles on each corner. In the middle of the card, there is a semi-transparent clip-art representation of a private eyes. Superimposed on the card is a bold text "Dirk Gently's" and a little smaller underneath "holistic detective agency". At the bottom, there is also their address in London, which is actually taken from the book. I did not include any other information as I think Dirk would never put that on. People would just "find them" or better yet, he would find his customers.
