I play the violin, beginner, and I used to play piano. I dropped that to play violin, my mom said that I can't be in more than one instramental at a time, so I dropped piano. I used to play clarinet, but then I had to drop that too because it cost too much money. /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

I voted under classical, but I suppose it would be more of a combination. My primary instrument, and my first love, is the oboe. English horn basically goes with that, though there are times when I'm in more of an "English horn" mood than in an "oboe" mood. I can't explain how that works, although other oboists might be able to! /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> I've played for fifteen years now. It took a lot of self-examination, thought, and trying things out to realize that while my performance talent is distinctly in an orchestral setting, playing isn't something I want to full time. I burned out recently, in fact, and now I'm working my way back. My beautiful, beautiful oboe is waiting for me. I've heard music described as my exoskeleton, and I can't deny that. It will always be the thing that holds me together.
I also play recorder, more than just the little bit you learn in school. I directed the recorder ensemble at my college's Madrigal Dinner my freshman year, and I played tenor and alto recorder (Renaissance style) in my current college's early music ensemble. My other instrument is the piano, although I'm more self-taught than anything. My mother is a pianist, but we discovered early on that I don't learn well from her. I also had a semester of piano when I was a performance major.
This here is a music geek, folks, and I am very proud of it! /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

I can play the oboe, a little bit of piano, and I'm getting my brother to teach me all the percussion instruments (marimba, xylophone, drums, etc.) right now. I love music and I'm also in the choir; singing is my favorite /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />.

I play flute(for 6 years now) in my school concert band and marching band(thats really fun, except when it's raining), and I take private lessons. I also have taken piano lessons for a year. /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

I play the clarinet, and I had to learn the recorder for school. I've been trying to teach myself flute, violin, guitar, bass, trumpet, piano, and percussion. If I had moore time, I'd probably be doing pretty well. It's so sad that high school has to eat up so much of my time... /sleep.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="-_-" border="0" alt="sleep.gif" />
