Uranus - Astronomy

Post by Prof. Maxim Trevelyan »

Uranus was the first planet to be classified as a planet with the use of a telescope. Uranus had been visible to the naked eye prior to its classification but had never been considered a planet due to its dimness and slow movement. William Herschel discovered it in 1781 while using a reflective telescope he had made for himself; he originally thought it was a comet. Studies made of the planet's orbit soon revealed that it was a planetary body.

Color in the page below. Please make sure to use a wide array of colors, not just one or two, otherwise, it will not be counted for Hoots or beans.
