For a while now, the Kingkiller Chronicles have been my favourite books. They're definitely a good read, and Patrick Rothfuss is a really cool guy. The books are marvelously written and I got sucked right in!

I am completely, totally, and utterly enthralled by Song of Fire and Ice. I do believe it's taken the #1 spot...for now.

Besides Harry Potter I love the Bartimaeus Trilogy, Skullduggery Pleasant, the Septimus Heap books and the Inkheart Trilogy.
What I like about Bartimeaus are the footnotes. They are very funny to read. And Bartimaeus is a really funny character.
The Inkheart Trilogy is a German book series by Cornelia Funke. It is really great. I think it is translated into english, but I'm not sure.
It is sad that I barely read at the moment, because I have so much to do and at the moment browsing through HOL is so interesting :D

The Lord of the Rings, if it counts as a book series (to me, it's just one long book, even though it was published in 3 parts).
If not, The Belgariad series by David Eddings is next in my list.
And, of course, Harry Potter!

This is so hard as I have a whole library to choose from, but here goes

1, Harry Potter

2, Percy Jackson (counting the days until House of Hades comes out).

3, Tiffany Akins books by Terry Pratchett

4, The Cat who ... by Lillian Jackson-Braun (I want KoKo)

5, The Amber Novels by Roger Zelazny

I have many more, but those are my top five series.

My favorite book series is "The Last Apprentice" by Joesph Delaney. The books are so much fun to read and very interesting. I couldn't put them down once I started them. The characters are great and the plots are amazing!

I agree with you Marie Dark. The Harry Potter series will always be my number one, hands down :)

I do; however, have a couple of other favorite series because of how unique the themes are portrayed in: Cirque du Freak by Darren Shan and Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead.

Let's see. Well first is absolutely Harry Potter and all extra books connected with it. Second is obviously Lord or Rings, accompanied with The Hobbit. Other book series are not so good for as, as are these two.

I loved a book serie from Nick Sagan, which I don't know the translation to English. ^_^ But honestly, as the HP addicted I am, my favorite book serie is, without any doubt, Harry Potter! :)

Since it has been a bit since I posted last, my newest favorite book series is The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer! The characters are a band of misfits and each novel just gets better and better. It is a great fairy tale re-telling series with some amazing steampunk thrown in!

My favorite book series is Everworld. It has a little bit of everything. Tons of different type of mythologies, knights, aliens, vikings, cannibals, mermaids, and more. It's a series of twelve books meant for young adults but it's really good. It's one of those book series where I was always at the bookstore the day the new one came out.

My favorite series of all time is The Wheel of Time (pun not intended) :D
It's got great world building, an amazing and comprehensive magic system, political strife, a Big Bad, and wonderful characters. I don't see this series ever being dethroned as my favorite.

Also, the Lady Sherlock series by Sherry Thomas is pretty amazing...on audible, because the narrator and the narration is everything!!!

My favorite book series would have to be the Alice in Zombieland series by Gena Showalter. Harry Potter is a very close second, but you can't top zombies and out of body experiences with romance drama shoved in the middle of chaos.

Hard decision, but I would say Percy Jackson is up there at the top with Harry Potter coming close second, then The Worst Witch. (One of my childhood stories.)

Harry Potter ranks up there, but The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer is probably my current favourite.
