Some of you have actually figured out how I got mine...

Ash Night is the penname of a writer in a novel called Demon In My View, which is my favorite book by Amelia Atwater-Rhodes.

My sister, Evelyn, signed up a bit after me, so she just decided to take on the last name I used.

I chose Rayne, because it was another way of spelling rain. I love to sit and watch the rain fall on gloomy days because it makes me feel alive.

Lee was just an addon.

-----------------------------------------------
Your name of Rayne makes you very idealistic and generous, with the strong desire to uplift humanity leading you into situations where you can express your desire to serve others. You want to assume responsibilities and to look after people; however, you can become too involved in other people's problems and tend to worry. Your name gives you a natural desire to express along artistic and musical lines. You desire a settled home and family life, and are expressive and attentive to your loved ones.

*tangerine* = The name tangerine comes from Tangier, Morocco
1. A widely cultivated variety of mandarin orange having deep red- orange fruit with easily separated segments.
2. A strong reddish orange to strong or vivid orange.

Why Tangerine? well ... i've always loved the color tangerine...and also decided to name one of my children "tangerine". It's a unique name and really cool. Benildo ... i hate it! lol...well it's okay with my name i guess. Benildo ... came from the name of my school ... Benilde of course. I just don't want to forget my surname...that's all. hehehe. /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

I chose my name because Emma Watson is one of my new favorite actresses. So i took the name Emma. And then I got my last name because Sirius Black is also one of my favorite characters.

Well my first name came from one of the spells in Harry Potter...Wingardium Leviosa....and i just liked the Leviosa part...and though it would be a cool name.
Its hard to say where LaPar came from....i wanted a surname that also started with an L..and i originally thought about LaPan, but that didnt sound quite right; then i hit upon LaPar and i thought they sounded pretty good together.

I've had this name for so long, but I haven't actually used it in too many places. I first came up with it when I was around 14 or 15. Kellaya was something I just snatched out of the air because I thought it "sounded cool". The Psy part came from Sabrina Psy, a character on *shudder* Pokemon, back when I used to like it.

Most of the time, Kellaya as a character has been, like her Psy counterpart, telekinetic, to some degree. I decided to pick up and dust off the name again because I hadn't used it in a while, and because I didn't want to use another name from any other fics I'd written. This seemed to be the only one that would fit at HOL, at least for me.

I've actually had the name Morgan Fenwick for a while. I used Morgan because I thought it was cool as a girl's name and also from the character Morgan Le Fay from "Le Morte D'Arthur". Fenwick is a name I always liked because I thought it sounded magical. I also used it in a story I've been working on about a mysterious old alchemist by the name of Nicholas Fenwick. So, Morgan Fenwick was born in my imagination before I'd even heard of HOL, and I wanted it to be my HOL name since the character of MF was based on myself a little bit, anyway.

Making my name up was rather easy for me. Instead of picking names that you hear often I decided to choose characters I like. My first name Aeryn came from one of the main characters in the sci-fi show Farscape. My last name Entreri came from a character I love in a book series written by R. A. Salvatore. This character has an evil side to him that would fit perfectly in the Slytherin House!! /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

Well, I love elves and so wanted to have my elven name as my first name.
That's Aredhel. I also wanted Tonks as my last name though because she is one of my favourite characters and I reckon she's like me! /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />
Someone already had the name Aredhel Tonks though (my friend took the name to annoy me because I said I wanted it in school, grrr!! /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> ) so instead, I took my favourite elf from Lord of the Rings, 'Arwen' and kept my last name as Tonks! /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />
By the way, I'm not angry at my friend really, I still love her lol /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> - her elven name is not as good as mine and I suppose I would have nicked 'Aredhel' if my name was as rubbish as hers... /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />
If I'm good, I'll go to Hogwarts when I die.

~ Sabashii Khushrenada ~

Long long ago, in a land faraway... Meaning when I first discovered such wonderful things as "online" and "fanfics" I had a character named Sabashii Itsumo. To translate in Japanese, it was supposed to be "Lonely Forever". OHH the angst! But I messed up. DOH. ^^;

Sabashii breaks down into something like "Dead Mackeral".

But it's been my persona for something like 6 years, through the net and penpals everywhere. I love my name!

Khushrenada comes from my beloved "father" figure, Treize Khushrenada of GundamWing. ^^;

So...

~ Sabashii Khushrenada ~

Nice to meet you all! <3

My name?

Avi helped me create my first name. And Corvus is part of the scientific name for a Raven, which is where I got the last name.

Well I've always liked the name Gwen, so I thought I'd change it a bit. I went to a baby name site and searched it. This name came up, Guinevere. It's Welsh...which I love...and it means white wave...which I think is so cool. It's prounced Gwen-i-vere, but my name is prounced Guin-i-vere.

As for my last name, I searched Celtic last names and this one came up on a Celtic last name site. I thought it sounded cool and original, so I picked it. From Ey, Saxon, ig, an island, a watery place, and ing, a meadow--the meadow on the island or near the water, is where it came from and what it means. So it means the meadow on the island or near the water.

Basically my full name means the white wave meeting the meadow on the island or near the water. I like the nickname Guin too, so you cane call me Guinevere or Guin. /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

EDIT: my last name is actually Irish not Celtic

It's actually not that long of a story. I chose the name for meaning. The name Adeline is french and means nobel and kind (hopefully I am both haha) and the name Agape (`a-ga-pay) means "love that is selfless in nature" (maudlin I know /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> but I like it). It comes from greek...however it can also mean lovefeast haha!

Heh, mine is really simple. I wanted to stick with my real first name, Sabrina, and I wanted to use Spellman, cause that's my alias, but it said no names of famous people or characters, and Sabrina Spellman is a character. So I looked for a last name that went well with Sabrina, and after going through 5 million meanings, I finally got the name Locksley in my head after seeing something similar, and since I like Robin Hood: Prince of Theives, and it worked well, I settled with my HOL name now, Sabrina Locksley. Yay! /happy.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="^_^" border="0" alt="happy.gif" />

Well mines not a very long story either:
I was writting a story and i was after a name for a werewolf and i stumbled across Seirath...meaning 'Cursed' yes i know the 'i' and the 'e' are around the other way this was because when my friend first wrote it down she stuffed it now its force of habit. My last name is kind of a joke because i have a good friend who's a tad on the angery side and when he signed up for HOL he used Cross...meaning angery, so i stole it off him

Nashira is my real name, and I'm called Queen of the Fire/Flame. Flamme is flame in French, and my extended name which is also my title is Nashira de la Flamme which means Nashira of the Flame. the phrase "of the Flame" has been passed on for many generations in my family, who are a long line of mostly purebloods.

Both parts of my name were actually taken from J.K. Rowling's website, in the Extra Stuff section.

Mopsy the dog-lover was originally going to be a character in Goblet of Fire. She was an eccentric witch that lived on the edge of Hogsmeade and took in stray dogs - including Sirius Black in dog form. Rowling ultimately decided to scrap the idea. As I'm a big fan of Sirius and have once taken care of my own pack of dogs (nearly 20) it only seemed fitting.

(I almost went with Mafalda, which was another abandoned character - a Weasley cousin. The name has since been used in the books, though as a different character. You can see her signature in Book 5, on a letter from the Improper Use of Magic Office, Ministry of Magic.)

I love the Weasleys. Not only can they be hilarious, interesting characters they seem like people you would really want to have as friends. Just kind and warm-hearted. But, Weasely is a much too common name in an online community based around the Potter world. Well... on J.K.'s site, she reveals that Molly's maiden name is Prewett.

After signing up with HOL, I started re-reading Order of the Phoenix. I had completely forgotten she lost close family members to Antonin Dolohov, the Death Eater.

QUOTE ". . . Gideon Prewett, it took five Death Eaters to kill him and his brother Fabian, they fought like heroes . . ." – Alastor ‘Mad Eye’ Moody[/quote]

Heroes and Weasley-connected all at the same time? I can handle that. /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

Hey, another Robin Hood fan! Nice to meet you! /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

I was originally going to call myself Sybil Parkinson (yes, some sort of relative to Pansy) and then thought, "Are you out of your mind?!" since my favourite character is Remus ... so took Lupin as a last name of course, and then went nuts trying to find a first name that "went with" Lupin. Abigail somehow sounded just right so here I am.... /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
