I did. I started it yesterday and finished the next morning. Now, I really feel prepared for the movie, even though, some things have been taken out or changed.

Do you mean read it as in read it again or read it for the first time?

I read it for the first time when it first came out a few years ago. I haven't re-read it since it first came out. I do have all of next week off school for fall break so I'm thinking of reading it again if I finish the other book I'm currently reading.

I am not sure if it's worth reading it over before the movie just because as they keep making movies they seem to be straying more from the books... so it would probably irritate me to be really well versed on the books before I go see the movie if they change a bunch of it again.

Well, I read GoF when it came out and since then I've read it again for about twenty times. I seem a bit crazy, but I like Harry Potter so much that I just have to read these books again and again. /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

I'm going to re-read it again before I watch the movie. But I don't know how long before I watch it I will read the book. I mean, I would like to remind myself of every detail and everything, but at the same time, if I remember everything so well, perhaps I will be disappointed about things they take away. So I'll probably read the book at least a month before I watch the movie. /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

I was going to re-read it this summer but then got monsterly sidetracked. I'll probably read it again before the movie comes out anyway, or else I'll just ask my friend who can practically recite the whole book by memory /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

I read it a few days before Half Blood Prince came out in July. I re read the whole series so it would all be fresh in my mind for the new book.

I'll probably try to reread it before the movie if I have time. That's what I've done with the other movies so far, just to have it fresh in my mind.

I read it when it came out a few years ago too. But as I love the HP books I reread the series all the time. So I've read it a few times. Last time I read the GoF was... 2 months ago. /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Maybe I will re-read it AFTER the movie, because if I read it before, I will notice all of the changes, which were made, and I hate when the screenplay differs from the original book! So after the movie I will read it again.

Yep. I always re-read a book (or entire series if I have time) before/after a new book or a movie.

I too love reread the Harry Potter series! /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

I always re-read the entire series before a movie or book comes out. It helps a lot. Plus, when you go to see the movie, you will probably spot more mistakes to scream at. I haven't re-read it yet, but I will soon, I almost forgot, so thanks.
