I read--er--a lot of books a year. I'm trying something new this year. On my birthday (29 May) I started to keep track of how many pages I read for a year. So far, I have read 18 books. That's a total of 5,938 pages...so far!

Signature made by me. PM me if you want one! (I can't do animation yet, though. Sorry!)

I've never really counted but I usually finish 1-3 a week. Right now I'm at a stand still because I'm reading Vanity Fair which I am gettiing confused on. I'll be reading about this one and then it automatically goes to another. It's like reading a soap opera.
Angelus, I know what you mean about stockpiling. i have plenty I haven't gotten to because at the same time, I'm checking out books at the libary.

I've never really counted either; but I am an avid reader so I know that it is definitely over 1 per year.
Kaitlyn, Vanity Fair can be a hard read; just stick with it though; it's definitely worth it, in my opinion. Of course, one of my favorite authors is Charles Dickens and he can be a very 'hard read' as well.
Books, for me, are a way of life. I honestly couldn't imagine what I would do without them. I have so many on my shelves that I haven't gotten to yet; like Kaitlyn, I tend to utilize the library even more than I probably should. I have some favorites that I've read and re-read over and over until the covers are almost torn off.

I think you could count both, but at different times. For instance, I can count the picture books I read when I was, ehm, four or so. But if I read a picture book now, I'd never count it. /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> Yes, it's a book, but it's way belo my reading level now. If that makes sense.Crystal Key wrote:Hundreds..........thousands.........who can really say for sure.....
I think it depends on what your definition of a book is. Mine is " a heavy, over 600 paged novel". My cousins say a picture book is big. Can you see the difference? I don't count picture books, some people might...

I just read when I can spare the time, usually on holidays. I really like emotional books, romance stories, sad stories. I also like fantasies. I also like Scifi a bit. During school, I'm usually busy so I get a book read about one every week. On holidays I have much more time to read, and I get alot more books read. Same goes for my brother, we usually read together, except he reads tons of mathematic related books, science related stuff, SciFi, and stuff to do with outerspace.

Wow, I'm so jealous of those of you who can read hundreds in the year. I love to read, the only problem is I'm so slooow! I guess I'm just easily distracted when reading, like I have to have it completely silent to concentrate. I wish I could just block everything out, then I'd be reading all the time!
Here I go, scream my lungs out, to try and get to you

I read a new book every 2 -3 weeks. Reading is one of my favourite things to do. I love it. Especially the Harry Potter books, because you get lost in the world of magic. I actually find myself in my head. When I read Harry Potter the characters are in my head, moving and talking and doing everything that is in the book. I am there also helping Harry, Ron and Hermione. It is weird but fascinating to know that a piece of paper with some writing on, can get you lost in to the pages.

...If I get bored, I go to the library, or I get someone to take me to the nearest bookstore. Sometimes I'll go to the mall, which is about 45 minutes away because I'm a secluded little first year, just to get a book. :err: I absolutely adore reading. It makes me happy... probably why I get called a geek a lot in school. /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> So, way more than 10 a year... when I can't get to a new book, I'll reread an old one, heh.

3 fanfics every day (not just HP, other fandoms...)
14 mangas a month
10-20 scanlations a month
5 magazines
about more then a 100 romance novels each year.
this isn't including the anthologies, poetry collections, essay books and mythology books I read either XD
