Modules #2/#6 - “MANIFESTATIONS” - Spring 2022

Post by Prof. Sindor Aloyarc »

Welcome to the Module 02 and Module 06 “Manifestations" thread!

("Scroll-and-a-Half" / 150 words)

Write some kind of a Short Story or Poem, or share a Memory that revolves around this month's Power. Let those creative juices flow!

In addition to submitting via e-mail, you’re encouraged to post these publicly here. While this will not effect your points, it will encourage interactions by providing additional options for people to connect on, particularly for those who take part in the “Mingling” portion of this month’s exercises if they enjoy or relate to your work and choose to talk about something you’ve shared.

The feeling of hope has originally started in my life when I became friends with my best friend Jack. I was 12 and I was still in the process of grieving. You see, my mum passed away when I was just 10 years old and when I was 10, I was adopted internationally and moved to the UK. I couldn't speak English, and this mixed with the abuse at home (as you can imagine, I was bullied at school too) resulted in me being rather quiet and avoiding people as much as I could.

I have often seen Jack at school. We went to the same school but he is a year younger than me so we never really actually met. He also lived on the same street so I was often walking behind him (stalker vibes  ). At some point he decided to say hi to me on the bus and I realised that he is certainly not British but American, so he was also an immigrant. At some point later on, we started exchanging two or more sentences on our way to school and then he started visiting me at breaks. We started walking home together too. It all just happened systematically, for no reason at all. He never judged me on my (at the time) poor English (although now if I mispronounce something we have a proper laugh), and was very supportive. He was also the first person I ever told about what was going on at home and he was always an extremely good friend - inviting me and my sisters for Christmas, giving us gifts, inviting us for dinner whenever we were hungry. He never also cared about my sexuality (when I came out a few people decided to give up on me).

Jack is still my best friend. We have known each other for almost 16 years now and I don't think we will ever stop being friends.
