May Prompt: Short and Sweet

It's time to begin a new month; one that is considered "short and sweet". Not for its length in days, but rather for the fact that in English (and French and German, and probably a few other languages) the word for this month is the shortest of all the month words at only three letters!

For this month, your task is to write at least 50 words about something that you could describe as "short and sweet".
This month's twist is that in each sentence, the average length of the words must be LESS than three letters!
(For example: "The ball is red." does NOT qualify because with 12 letters and 4 words, the average is exactly 3. "The cat is red,", though, with 11 letters and 4 words, is valid.)

The deadline is May 31 at 11:59 PM HOL; completing this prompt will earn you 20 hoots. (Partial credit will be given in the form of 2 hoots for every 5 words up to 50.)

As an old game, it was so fun. I had a bun. As the sad eye of the dog met my eye, I ate the last bit. But then his joy was big as I lob him a bun with jam and lots of egg. As he bit at it, I saw his tail wag.

Fun is as I do
So it is to be
I saw in May a Sun is hot
A wind is not
It is as I like
So I go to
I go fro
As a bud is up
Oh if I had All in a day
Oh to be We in a day

An echo to show a day gone by
from so, so long ago.
But a child was I as I sat on the dock
waiting for Ma and Pa.
O, a pip far out and off it was,
a wee dot that flit to and fro,
yet I saw the craft of red rise and set bit by bit,
dip, dip, dip as it ran on near to me.

As it came by
I dove on in
in a bid to swim
on the glass of the sea
and to the small painted boat.
Pa rose me up
and onto his lap
and Ma sung an old soft air.
I fell to rest
a smile on my lips
as I saw the sun fade to a deep plum.
