very interesting question. =)
the name Fujiko Ankyo is a name i haved used for several months at least on other accounts. its the name of one of my maple story characters. there is no specific reason for choosing Fujiko other then i just like how it sounds. the ankyo came about when i needed to add on to fujiko because fujiko alone was taken. i wanted something japanese to go along with the other name. ankyo means, easy life. i just liked how it sounded and how it looked with fujiko.

Crick was also half of the duo that helped model DNA (Watson being the other), which is what the writers and directors of Stranger than Fiction decided to name all their characters after, at least surnames wise. (Crick, Pascal, Escher, Eiffel, etc.) Nice name, though.
Mine was just a random name that popped into my head while I was registering for something else. If I could do it again I would definitely change it.

Glumbumble pie.
Well I came across my name because of my dad, my real name is Joanne so that is where you get the Jo from in my name. Im not sure how he came up with the name Jinxy though, I suppose it has a "J" in it so it kind of has a ring to my name, any way instead of using one of the names I decided to put them together and on HOL it actually does sound kind of witchey! My story isn't really great but I thought i'd write it anyway.

If I should become a stranger, you know that it would make me more than sad (8)

((This sis a cool topic because I actually put thought into my name and my mom's and dad's))
First off all the people in my family are names of trees and or flowers. I really like nature and thought it would be cool to do names that pertain to mother nature.
My name is Cypriss Rose Dryden.
Cypriss: A type of tree that can live for over 100 years. Most of them are found in lakes or ponds. They are very strong and can withstand just about anything.
Rose: My birthday is in June and that's the flower for my month. Also they smell nice!
Dryden: My family's name derived from John Dryden whom was an english poet, translator, playwrite and critic who dominated the literary life of the Restoration of England. This period became "The Age of Dryden"
My dad's name is Hickory Bir Dryden.
Hickory: A type of nut tree that can grow up to 80 feet in height. The bark is thick and strong and the nuts are harvested for sweetness.
Bir: A type of tree that does good in all types of weather and climates. This tree provides shade to animals and people. If you have a tree in your yard this may be it.
My mom's name is Juniper Lodi Dryden.
Juniper: A tree that grows closer to the ground and is known mostly to be male because of the characteristics but there are very few and rare females. They are shrubs and only grow about 1 ft in height. The berries that come off of the tree are great nurishment for wildlife.
Lodi: This tree produces yellow juciy apples. These apples are mostly grown in mid july. This tree however is long lived.

Hi all! /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
I've always loved the name Penelope. It's Greek in origin, meaning "weaver".
Penelope, wife of Odysseus, fended off suitors by weaving during the day and unraveling at night a tapestry she said had to be completed before she would wed another husband. The name has come to signify a loyal, capable, and clever woman.
Sounds like a Ravenclaw to me! Also - believe it or not, I totally forgot about Penelope Clearwater when I picked my first name!!! /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />
Ardith was a name I had debated taking as my first name. One of my friend's aunts is named "Ardith" and it also has a really interesting meaning - "blooming meadow" in the Hebrew and it's also an old Swedish name that means "spiritual prosperity".
So that's my story...so far!

I am really boring and just used my real name. I wish I had thought of something more fun and creative, but I panicked!
But it is kind of neat to see my real name enrolled at Hogwarts!

Elfe Hart
I take that name from Final Fantasy game. I'm not playing the game. But I love its graphic. /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />
And I was reading about Final Fantasy in wikipedia when I joined HOL. So, I just put the name I just read.
Elfe : Avalanche leader from FF VII-BC
Hart: I take this from Tifa Lockhart FF VII also, but only the Hart.
But later, I realize that it's a part from my best friend's surname too in RL. /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> How can I forget him??

Mine is actually inspired by my two favorite TV shows - "Stargate: Atlantis" and the show it spun off from, "Stargate: SG-1"
Elizabeth is because the leader of Atlantis is Dr. Elizabeth Weir. She's a very strong person, but at the same time, she cares a lot about her people. Traits I admire.
Carter has been my Internet surname for several years now, actually. It's because one of the SG-1 characters is Captain/Major/Lt. Colonel Samantha Carter. She's a brilliant astrophysicist who has no problem going into battle when she needs to; she'd be a good Gryffindor.

My HOL name is Bianca Capet.
Bianca comes from Latin originally, and means "white" or "pure". Her appearance is mostly pale and colorless, so it works quite well. It also hints to her blood status.
Capet comes from royalty; the House of Capet ruled France from roughly the year 987 to 1328, and still remain as royalty in other European countries today. They were one of the most widespread families in Europe, though they rarely married outside of the family. It goes along with the idea of having pure blood, "keeping it in the family", that sort of thing.
Rather straightforward, but I like it. /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

In my non-HOL life, I have already named three children (all adults now)- just consider me an old soul).
Aside from the convention of selecting a name by honoring someone by naming a child after them, I always considered first how the name sounded, especially in conjunction with the last name. Then I evaluated how the written, printed name would look - you know, the balance of the ascenders and descenders, the loops and spaces...
So I chose Ameliagrace because I really like the way the two names work together, but there was no space indicated for a middle name, so I just jammed the two names together!
Whyte is a nod to my Scottish MacGregor sept Whyte roots.
And I looked up what the names mean: Amelia is from Latin and old German and means "industrious; striving; work" ; Grace is also from Latin and means "Favor; blessing" and is a "virtue name referring to God's blessing" [a lofty goal to strive for indeed!]
So, as the saying goes, now you know the rest of the story. /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Ok. I actually used my real name. I'm old enough to make the choice whether or not it would be the right thing to use my name or a made-up one, I'm an adult with a teenaged son, and I like my name, and didn't want to use any other, plus I was honestly afraid I'd forget what my name was if I used a made up one. /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> LOL So, there you have it. My HOL name is my honest to goodness real name. Bye everyone. Lisa. /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Well, I guess this is for the record. Zenix...is NOT a masculine name. /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> I honestly remember sitting one night trying to create a super original name that no one would have and I guess it worked. I came up with Zenix, the only problem that my creation has given me is that apparently it sounds masculine. So, that's my first name and then James, is one of my ancient times 4 billion grandfather's surname and also it happens to be Harry's dad's name.

I really like the name Ekaterina, and so I thought it would be a good idea to have it as my HOL first name. My last name, Carbone, is my grandmother's maiden name. I really like the names, and combined I like them more, so it works for me, I suppose.

Well, Guenevere is my real name, and I love it, so I decided to keep it for here. It means, among many other things that begin with the word 'white,' White Fairy.
My last name is Welsh, describing the Otherworld, the backdrop for the Afterlife, the Faery Realm, etc. I thought it went well with my first name.
Also, my 'brother' Ethan decided that the first surname I chose was dumb.
