"Derek Pierce"

Derek = pronounced the same as "Derick"

sounds like "tear" and "ick"

Pierce = Just like the actor "Pierce Brosnan" from the newer James bond movies

Jacord Brieremere

This is going to date me, but I used to use this name when I played D&D in college (ack so so long ago)

Ja= short a like in about
cord= pronounced with a hard C like in car

Briere= like briar as in briar patch
mere= rhymes with 'here'

But I mostly go by the shortened Jac, pronounced just like 'Jack'.

I get mistaken for a guy by using Jac, but I don't mind. /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

Mine is pretty simple:

And my last name

She sha
chem cem

So it's P-ter Sha-cem

So, for anyone interested.

Even though my name is very straight forward I just couldn't resist:

Alanna - Al, like Al Gore or Weird Al, then Anna, "ah-na"

Pendragon - Pen (the thing you write with), then dragon (huge scary monster)

That was simple

I think mine's fairly straightforward, but I'll join in anyway!

Lu - as in loop
thi - as in theatre
en - as in end

Black - if you don't know how to pronounce that, i'm seriously worried!

My name is (Quenya). Plain 'Elvish' to the majority.. It's meaning is umm.. somewhat like- Elestel (star of hope) Teletári (Last princess/queen).
Pronounciation:

El as in 'elderly'.
est as in 'vest'.
el again as in 'elderly' or 'elm'

stress is on the 'est'.

Tele as in the 'tel' of 'telephone' and the final 'e' as in the 'e' of end.

Tári as in the 'tar' of 'tar' but the 'a' is pronounced fully and longer. Reason being that the 'a' is accentuated. (á). It's called a 'long a' and is pronounced like the'a' in 'father' the final 'i' is pronounced like the 'i' of 'pit'.

The 'r' must be trilled like in Spanish.

stress is on the tár.

Confused? I hope not!

I teach Quenya. Anyone interested to learn, its melanatar@hotmail.com /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" />

My name isn't too complicated to pronounce... I'm sure you've met someone with at least one of my names in your life.

Avi Cohen

Ah- vee (first syllable gets emphasis)
ko- in (first syllable gets emphasis)

a-vi co-hen is how it's broken up.

Well the first names pretty easy:

Mag (like the beginning of the word "magazine")

gi (pronounced "Gee", like the happy noise some people make.)

My last name is more complicated:

Arc (Pronounced "arse", yes, like the thing you sit on)

en (pronounced "in")

eaux (Pronounced "O" or "Oh")

Put it all together, and it sounds like "MagGee ArseInO"

Mor - ee - han* MaQuill /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

the gh has a difficult pronounciation. Even myself sometimes pronounce the gh like the g in gator, but in fact it has a palatal sound (like just "pretending" to say the g)

And the Quill is just a bit more centred in the u. heh.

I'm odd. /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />
