I really thought that name was pretty, and it also means "she" in spanish.
the 'll' sound in 'ella' is pronounced like a y in english. so the word isn't actually like the name. (you may know this already) personally i think the name Ella is much prettier than the spanish ella (pronounced more like "aeya" in english...actually that's not phonetically accurate but not many people would know how to pronounce the vowels like linguists do). anyway...this is not the point. i really mean so say that i like the name Ella!
wait...so I've been pronouncing my name wrong?

Ella. I pronounce the L's.
Is it wrong? /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

Lyndsie Fenele wrote:well, i don't like to admit it, but my full and correct name is terrible. i was named Erimentha Rianna Fenele. Erimentha is Greek for 'collector of thoughts; determined protector' and Rianna is Welsh or something for 'sweet basil; virtuous'. i don't know why my parents thought that Erimentha was a good name, but i hate it, so i started using the name Lyndsie for no reason other than that it sounds normal. coincidentally, there are a lot of plant references in my name. Lyndsie (as a variation of Lyndsay) means 'linden trees near the water' and Fenele could be considered a variation on the herb fennel (though it's pronounced with the second e long and the last silent; like Faneel, not fanelly).
its rather interesting how the people that you say have "normal" names like making up different sounding names... for instance, i love your name. it's really very.. unique! you won't have to worry about embarrassing yourself by answering someone who called your name but meant someone else. It can be a real pain. your name is original and rolls off the tongue quite nicely. but i know how you feel about not liking it... but you'll eventually be happy that you got such a different name.. hopefully. anyway, You must have a nickname, what is it?

who else has a really unique name?

oh and do you guys think that Rheyah Jhayn is a weird name?

I don't think Rheyah Jhayn is a wierd name as such - I think it sounds very cool and exotic /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />

My real name is Demelza, which is kinda rare, but becoming more common. As for Vanyaria, I made it up lol - it means beautiful song - vanya is beautiful in elvish, and an aria is a type of song.

My name is completely unoriginal. My first name is actually Briana. No points for originality there. But as to the last name, I was struggling for a name that wasn't Harry Potter related. I knew that alot of names on here was, but I was determined that mine wouldn't be. Edwards is the last name of one of my favorite authors.

It is completely fascinating as to how everyone else came up with their name. Keep up the posts.

I just checked the name "Brielle" in an online dictionary of some sort.

I came up with two possible answers: Brielle means "God is my salvation" but there's also another meaning that I found on a different name site saying that it means "high goddess."

Take your pick, I guess. /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm....... Why did I choose this name? A very good question with a simple answer! LOLZ! Anywayz, I choose this name because after reading the books, I wanted to become a chaser. So one of the chaser's name was Alicia Spinnit so I did Alicia. With the Jordan part..... /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> I choose this because I read the name Lee Jordan and he was always sooooo funny in the books so I got Jordan and that's that. So you got my name ~ Alicia Jordan!!

i totally agree, your names are so unique and original. anyways, i wish i had such awsome real names, oh but i don't. anyways i chose the name Trinity because it was a name that always seemed interesting and different. it is not the typical name that u hear everyday, and it has that unusualness. how ironic, it's also a close friend's last name /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />. and i just threw in the asian last name, Lang, because i'm asian /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />.

My name... it really has nothing to do with my real one, except that Astraea and Ashley sound somewhat similar... but that' just coincidence.

Astraea (pronounced "Ahs-TRAY-ah) really comes from the Latin word "astra" or "astrum," meaning "star." I've always had a thing with stargazing, so that was a must. (Plus, I'm a supuhstah! *Poses kneeling on one knee with hands straight in the air* /huh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="huh.gif" /> Yeah. Anyway...)

Candidus (CAHN-dee-doos) also comes from Latin. "Candid" means "free, open"... and that's really a good description of my personality. I have a free, airy nature that allows me, I think, to look at my life, the ups as well as the downs, and smile fondly at it. I love living, even when I've hit rock bottom, and most of all, I love loving, and I think my surname encompasses all of that.

"A rose by any other name would smell as sweet..." Perhaps... but it probably wouldn't seem as beautiful.

Stella St. Clair

I saw the name Stella on a TV show, and I came up with St. Clair as a last name. I was going to use it, as a name for a character in a story I was writing, but decided that I liked the characters name the way it was [Millicent Ramano]. So when I signed up here, I decided to use it!

My real name is Monique, and it isn't really too common.

Samantha Borodin

I chose Samantha because that's the name of my childhood bestfriend, who had cerebral palsy. She died two summers ago. She was a great person. And I chose Borodin because Alexander Borodin, one of the Five Russian Nationalistic Composers, is one of my favourite composers. And I like his name /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

My name is a joke... I chose Astra because in latin means "Star", so I decided that Astra Starr would be a funny name, a double star /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

hm.... why did I choose my name?....
well.....
I wanted a name that's not too common (I hope) and something that had a meaning I liked.
so I looked at this site where you could search up names and meanings of them.
and that's how I came to choose Ilona.
it means beautiful sunshine
and Ilo and some of my friends call me means joyous, light and sunshine too /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />
as for the last name... I have no idea at all... I just thought it sounded good with the first name /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

Well, I'm Cosmo Brown because I love the movie Singin' in the Rain, love the actor who played him (Donald O'Connor) and write for the character elsewhere. So, when my first registration didn't go through, I became Cosmo Brown. But, it's quite the masculine name for a lady. Oh, well. /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />
