My HOL name is my real first name (Erin) and my paternal grandmother's first name. Nothing too exciting, I'm afraid! I'm really enjoying this topic - I love reading about everyone's name.

I chose Tom from Tom Riddle and I chose foster because it kind of sounds like potter in a way. So I put them together, Tom Foster.

I put plenty of thought into my HOL-name.
Maravillas means "Admiration", and my surname Arrington means "Eagle."
I'm a Ravenclaw tried & true, I'm sure of it!
Eagles come in all shapes and sizes, but you will recognize them chiefly by their attitudes.

I came up with HOL name because Karen is very similar to my RL name (gets confused quite a bit) and Circa, because I use that word a lot. My RL sister liked the last name so much she used it for her name on HOL too. I am looking forward to getting more involved in HOL :)

My name is from Vampire Academy, the girl's name in the story was Vasilisa and her nickname was Lissa. Since my real name is Lissa I thought I would use the name. Knight was just a random word that popped into my mind :D

My First name is my 1-year-old daughter's first name, and my last name is my boyfriend's last name. Kinda common, don't you think?
Bold because I was born that way.
Strange because of my years on earth.
Furry because cats shed on me. <(^w^)>

Well since you asked...

The origin of my real name (Kayla) is Katherine so that's how I got my first name. It's pretty simple for that. The reason for my last name, Black, is because I like Sirius Black very much. but there is also another reason. I chose the name Black because if my name was Malfoy, it would kind of mean that I was related to Draco directly. So I wanted to be from a powerful pure-blood family that would be right up there with the Malfoys so that Draco and I could talk to each other without the issue of blood. It has nothing to do with me not liking half-bloods or muggleborns. I just like Draco too much. :P

Love to All,

Katherine Black

Elise is not my real name, but a name I have always loved. It's actually my grandmother's name, and I decided she wouldn't mind my using it. :)

Well Tuesday is because well I don't know I just like the name and always thought it would be fun being named after a day.
Ciel I got from Kuroshitsuji, which is a manga/anime that I'm obsessed with at the moment; one of the main characters' first name is Ciel.

There really is no special reason for picking my name. I just liked the name Trevor and it seemed to fit better the last name choices I had.

I do like reading everyone else's name and why they picked them. Very interesting!

Well, Charley is one of my favorite names. And yes, I'm a girl... I love the name Charley for a girl and I always have. It's not short for Charlotte or anything. I actually have loved the named since Charlie Bit My Finger LOL and the way Charley sound while said in a British accent is amazing! :P

Felton is after Tom Felton. Being the true Draco admirer and the fact that I love Tom Felton's music, I picked Felton :) I actually almost used Somerhalder :o IKR? After Ian Somerhalder, my favorite guy from LOST, aka Boone. But I choose Felton in the end, because who can resist him? He's gorgeoussssss!

Well I never really realised we could have nicknames, so I just put my real name. Though if I had to choose now, I would put Lou Trix, since Lou (Louise) is the name that I use for myself in my dream, and Trix is the end of the name Bellatrix, which is one of my favorite characters in the books.

My name was quite easy to come up with. Lauren has always been one of my favorite names, I think it's pretty. Dalton is the name of the high school I graduated from.

Hi, the story behind my choosing is actually really simple. I love my first name, so I wanted to use it, and, following in the grand tradition of using alliteration to create character names in the Harry Potter series, I chose the surname of my favorite Beatle, George Harrison.

Kimberly is my real name, usually shortened to Kim, but I put my full name because it sounds better and more prestegious I suppose, haha.
I got Marguerite from.. well, out of thin air. I wanted an M last name, and I was tossing around M names in my name, and came upon Margaret. I didn't want that, since it would sound like a middle name instead of a last name, so I just 'frenched' it up a bit and made it Marguerite! :)

Geneva is a name I've only come across once in "the real world", and hardly ever anyplace else-that's a big part of why I like it. When I think of a name, I think of someone who has that name, and their characteristics are linked with it. If I like a person with a certain name, I automatically like that name too, and vice-versa. Geneva had no associations, good or bad, as a character name for me, so I could attach a fresh personality to it. Geneva sounds similar to my first name in "the real world" (and no, I'm not telling you what it is), so I feel like it fits. Geneva is also a city in Switzerland, and that makes me think of chocolate, elegant watches, and peace-all very pleasant things. Lake Geneva was where a group of writers gathered, and had a contest to see who could write the best horror story (Mary Shelley "won", I suppose, since hers is the most famous today-Frankenstein). That's special to me, since I love writing and reading. So, Geneva is my first name for many little reasons.

Choosing my last name was a little more difficult and a lot more arbitrary. I was very tempted to have "Lupin" as my last name, because I fancy Remus Lupin. However, I thought using character names wasn't allowed on the site. Besides, I suppose I have to use something more original. So I flipped through random books, trying to find a name, and I found Masen. It was Edward Cullen's "human" last name in Twilight (ironic, as I despise Edward Cullen). Yet Masen wasn't too bad-an unusual spelling of a very common name (which works since I'm really a pretty ordinary person, but like to pretend I'm not), and starts with the same letter as my "real world" last name.

I came up with the name a while ago, before I'd even heard of HOL, and the more I think about it and use it as my alter ego, the more I like it.

Well, Lorelai - is my real name (I thought I would forget anything else :P )
And I wanted to have a double 'L' name so I was tossing around L names then remembered Sweeney Todd and was like Lovett! SO yeah it's my tribute to one of my favourite musicals. :P

Well, I wanted to use my real name. Since I a student here at HOL, I wanted to make it like real-life. Only except, magic exists and I'm a witch. But we all know that it all doesn't. So I wanted to pretend it was my real-life. So I picked my real-name. My real name however is Amanda, but I like to be called Mandy, so I picked Mandy for my first name. Meyer is my last name so I picked that for my last name and that's my history of my HOL name.
