HOL Goals 2025/2026

The Gold Spirit Award was begun several years ago as part of something known as HOL Appreciation Month. It’s designed to help motivate you to fulfil your personal goals for the school year, however big or small, whatever they might be. Anyone is welcome, be they student, post graduate or professor. Read the criteria below and then have a think about what you’d like to achieve for yourself this year. Once you’re done, post your goals as a reply to this thread and get to work on them. You may earn a shiny award at year’s end!

Criteria

• You must make at least 3 goals, though we’d like 4 or 5.
• They must be goals we can check and verify in some way. If you want to collect a certain amount of beans or the like, you’ll need to send me a screenshot of you having the right amount.
• One goal must be how many house points you’d like to earn (either overall or in particular classes)
• One goal must be related to classes (number of quills you want to earn, number of OWLs you want to complete, number of classes you want to teach/assist)
• You must achieve (or get very close) to at least 3 of your goals to qualify for an award

My Goals: Pass 4th year.

My goals for this year are to:
1. Earn at least 4 quills across my classes.
2. Earn at least 300 points for my house.
3. Get maximum points in at least one class.
4. Earn 3 rewards!

I knew it was bound to happen sometime but it still caught me by surprise: this is the first year that there are so few classes which I haven't yet passed that I am not even eligible to take five classes! My goals are:

1. Teach 6 classes to completion (3 each term)
2. Earn at least 300 non-class points (I initially had this at 500 but last year I earned 'only' 314 per my calculations)
3. Make sure Slytherin House remains in good shape (especially if the house is able to outlast me)
4. Win at least 25 awards
5. Keep Annabelle from flooding the dungeons Have at least 12 participants in this year's Emerald Cup

1. Earn 1,000 points
2. Earn 5 quills
3. Earn 300 points in one class
4. Participate in 2 art projects
5. Participate in 2 library projects

[Janne Halla]

• Earn at least 3500 points.
• Get quills in all my classes.
• Get 300 points in at least 5 classes.
• Submit to all issues of the Howler.
• Participate in at least one of each house activity if they'll be offered.
• Win at least 15 awards.

- Get a perfect 300 points for 2 classes for the Spring Term.
- Earn 8 quills this year.
- Submit to the HOwLer at least twice.
