*laughs* Well there's an interesting story really nothing behind my name. I've used Thaliasta as an online name for awhile, and I originally made it up from some random letters I drew out of a hat that I thought sounded cool together. To this day, I cannot figure out if it actually has meaning in any language, and 5 of the google search results out of the only whole page or 2 link to things by me. Last name was just made up and thrown on. Yes, I'm a ninja. /ph34r.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="ph34r.gif" />

Hm....well, my name really doesn't have much of a story behind it. My boyfriend and I end up doing various RPs, and one was a Hogwarts based RP. One of my characters (I have about a dozen or so /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" /> ) was named Chance Rasputin, cousin of my main character Anzhela (or Angel) Romanov. Yes, I did the Rasputin and Romanov thing on purpose. I thought it was funny and Selena (Chance's mom) thought it was hilarious. Her brother, Kael Romanov, just shook his head. He does that a lot at what I do.... Maybe I should stop listening to the people in my head.

How did I choose my name....
Well, I searched on Google for unusual girls' names, and I browsed through them until I came upon Raphaela. I thought that name was really cool. For the last name, I did the same thing on Google but only searched last names, and I came upon Guoan.
I wanted my HOL name to be really unique, not a name that you would find everywhere...
I like Raphael Guoan, don't you??

Jenny Willsburry
My name? Well, I had to make up a fake name for a class project with writing. I couldn't think of anything, so I left that unfinished. It was almost time to turn in our projects, and I was despretly searching for a name. I wanted a 'J' in there somewhere, but I wanted a 'W' as well, so I used for my project the first name with a J, Jenniffer, and a weird W, Willsburry. When I found this website, I just shortened the Jenniffer to Jenny, and kept the Willsburry!

Mine is kind of interesting.
I'm a huge mythology fan and while looking for a name for my wizard of a character, I thought I'd go the Egyptian myth route.
Akil means smart or intelligent in Arabic. It also happens to be the beginning of Akilles, the Greek who's known to be weak at the heel. XD
Thutmose, however, means son of Thoth. Thoth, of course, being the Egyptian god of wisdom and knowledge and writing and just about everything else in the education department.
So that's my story and I'm stickin' to it!

I chose Kalista for my first name because I like how it sounds when you say it. And my last name Birkston is named after the last name of one of my Sims /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

How did I choose my name? Mmmm... I do believe it is because I was writing a story and creating characters for it. One of my main characters I decided to name her something that means Wolf, because wolves are my favorite animal. So after searching a few baby name sites the only name I found to fit was Tala. The last name just came to me because she was going to be a huntress and I somehow connected that with faries or other fey type creatures... so thats my last name.

Zend Avesta
The Zend Avesta is the principal Zoroastrian scripture. The Zend Avesta is a collection of prayers, hymns, and other works, and includes the Gathas, or hymns of Zoroaster. The Zend Avesta as seen today was compiled from older oral traditions around the thirteenth century and may have existed in a different formn much earlier. According to legend, the original scriptures were destroyed by Alexander the Great, who is still reviled to this day.

My name comes from my originally dutch character, Alain van Dijken, and since I recycle names and all, I just... englishyfied it. IT's because I wanted a character that had a very classy first name, and in Holland there's not many Alains, but a very plain last name, and van Dijken is pretty much the same as... Smith in the USA. Though when I turned it into von Deijck, it turned even classier XD
Alain is French by the by.
Oh, and I love the name Tala, which probably has something to do with my youth obsession. That being Bey-Blade and having Tala Volkov as my favorite character. Which is weird because he's Russian, and Tala is a name for female Native Americans. Which I know because I'm clearly still obsessed. Will shut it now.

Here's to the crazy ones.
The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes.
While some see them as the crazy ones, we see genius.

My favourite Greek muse is called Thalia. She's the muse of comedy and I'm a very funny person that's why I chose it. I've got a notion that the second name (Krum) mustn't be explained... /unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

Well, as you can probably tell, I wasn't too creative with my name. Big fancy names confuse me, and I just think Rose is a purdy name. And the first two letters in my HOL name and real name are the same. /happy.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="^_^" border="0" alt="happy.gif" /> So it's not too confusing when people call me Rose. And I HATE choosing last names, so I chose Hanson, 'cause it sounds purdy with the name Rose.

I can't believe I've never posted in here! But it was fun to scroll through and read through them quickly - especially those who've been my good friends since we were ickle firsties.
Having come from Scottish ancestry on both my mother's (MacKenzie) and father's (Buchan) sides, I became fascinated with ancient Celtric Scotland, particularly the wild highlands. I'd just returned from those highlands, having seen castles built by the Buchan clan in the 1100's, and reading a book about ancient Celtic Christianity (quite different than that forced upon the world by the Romans). I took a shine to one of the character's names, Gwyd, though she wasn't the heroine, having taken the wrong course through love and murdered someone (like me, only without the murder). Aerlyn is also an ancient gaelic name, and part of my real name, though I'll never divulge which part (I do try to uphold HOL rules, though I've run astray occasionally in Gryffindor - my head always seems to be a few paces behind my mouth (or fingers, in this case /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> )
And so, among my best Gryffindor friends, I'm often referred to as Gwyd the Squid. No one even attempts to pronouce "Aerlyn." LOL

The origins of this name are really quite mundane. A friend of mine on a role-playing game was creating a group of adoptable characters by scrambling the names of existing characters. From Larakin came Karalin, and I immediately liked everything about it. McKay was chosen both because I like Irish and Scottish last names, and because one of my favorite characters on the television show Stargate Atlantis is Dr. Rodney McKay. :
: It was sheer coincidence that 'Karalin' and 'McKay' actually sounded good together.
