Here is origin of my name:
To punish mankind, Zeus ordered the other gods to make Pandora as a poisoned gift for man. Pandora was given several traits from the different gods: Hephaestus molded her out of clay and gave her form; Aphrodite gave her beauty; and Apollo gave her musical talent and a gift for healing. Hermes then gave Pandora a box. Before he was chained to the rock, Prometheus had warned Epimetheus not to take any gifts from the gods. Epimetheus did not listen to his brother, however, and when Pandora arrived, he fell in love with her. Hermes told him that Pandora was a gift to the titan from Zeus, and he warned Epimetheus to not open the box, which was Pandora's dowry. Until then, mankind had lived a life in a paradise without worry. Epimetheus told Pandora never to open the box she had received from Zeus. However, one day, Pandora's curiosity got the better of her and she opened it, releasing all the misfortunes of mankind (plague, sorrow, poverty, crime, etc.). Once opened, she shut it in time to keep one thing in the box: hope. The world remained extremely bleak for an unspecified interval, until Pandora "chanced" to revisit the box again, at which point Hope fluttered out. Thus, mankind always has hope in times of evil, but Hope has a great deal of catching up to do. My name Pandora originated in that woman, because I have many of her character properties.
My second name - Aether - is by my mother's name. This means I am aetheric, so magical and everywhere. The aither ("aether") is another mysterious concept related to fire. This Greek concept seems to derive directly from the akasha, its Hindu counterpart. The aither is the fifth element, together with the four others: Fire, Earth, Air, Water. Aither would correspond to Celestial Fire. These five elements are not the ones which form the world, but the ones which destroy it: fire (conflagrations); water (floods); air (winds and hurricanes); earth (earthquakes). In this connection, it seems that aither is radiative heat like the one of the sun, etc., which is able to propagate in empty space. The doctrine of the Four (or Five) Elements is ancient in Greece, where it dates from pre-Socratic times. But it is far older in the Far East, and was widely disseminated in India and China, where it forms the basis of both Buddhism and Hinduism, particularly in an esoteric context. The Greek word aither derives from an Indo-European radix aith-("burn, shine"). This radix figures in the name of Aithiopia (Ethiopia), which means something like "burnt land". In Greek doctrines it seems that the aither was the celestial fire, the pure essence where the gods lived and which they breathed. Aether was once believed to be a substance which filled all of space. Aristotle included it as a fifth element on the principle that nature abhorred a vacuum. Aether was also called "quintessence ".
My Surname - Morpheus - is name of my father's bloodilne. One of my grandgrandgrand...grandfather was named Oneiros Morpheus. Was he the real Greek god of Dreams? Maybe. Morpheus ("he who forms, shapes, molds", from the Greek morphe) is the principal Greek god of dreams and sleep. Morpheus has the ability to take any human's form and appear in dreams. His father is Hypnos the god of sleep. Pasithea is his mother, and Thanatos, the personification of death, is his uncle. The sons of Hypnos — the Oneiroi — are rulers of dreams, and also include Icelus, Phobetor, and Phantasos. Morpheus is spoken of in the Metamorphoses of Ovid. He sleeps on an ebony bed in a dimly-lit cave, surrounded by poppy flowers. Ovid suggests that Morpheus has a special talent for mimicking human form in dreams. According to Ovid, Morpheus concentrated on the human elements of dreams, his brothers Phobetor and Phantasos being responsible for animals and inanimate objects respectively. Morpheus sends images of humans in dreams or visions, and is responsible for shaping dreams, or giving shape to the beings which inhabit dreams. Icelus assisted with those aspects of dreams that reflected reality. Phobetor made fearsome dreams. Phantasus produced tricky and unreal dreams. Together these sons of Sleep rule the realm of dreams. Morpheus also had special responsiblity for the dreams of kings and heroes. For these reasons Morpheus is often referred to as "Morpheus the Greek god of dreams" in superiority to his brothers. Morpheus is also called the Sandman. And finally I am a great fan of Neil Gaiman and his Sandman series. (-:

My name... well I think Paige Zauberei is as ingrained in me as my own true name.
Paige comes from a story I was writing called "The Allatricia" (if you ever see it as a book someday, you'll know I finally got around to finishing it!) and she is an incredibly gifted mage who goes through an awful lot of suffering and finally realises who she actually is. Paige came to me in a dream (I know, it sounds kinda corny!) and in my dream, there was a girl who looked a lot like me, but her name was Paige. It was kinda strange, as my cousin's name is Paige and she looks nothing like me! So I then I had to find a last name for my creation.
Paige means 'young' which worked with the story that she comes from. So I decided to have her last name as Zauberei, which is German for magic (Think of Die Zauberflote; Mozart's The Magic Flute).
Well, not long after that, I became interested in the online world of Harry Potter, and Paige has been my alias ever since!

Well i became Atrain Volecuz because my friend and I always used to play around outside with sticks pretending that we were some sort of warriors. (We still do sometimes) Anyways getting to the point, i used to be Atrain Volecuz the mighty strong warrior from a town in the middle of nowhere. I used this name while writing a book of my own. So when i was faced with the choice of a name on this site i of course picked Atrain Volecuz. So thats the story behind the name.

Well, I just looked through some names and I simply thought that Vivian was quite a pretty one, and it's meaning is not that bad either /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> (simply "alive"). As for "Durdenski": Durden happens to be the surname of the Brad Pitt-character from "Fight Club", the film that is one of my favourites. I added "-ski" because I'm from Poland and I thought it would be nice to make it sound a bit more Polish.

There isn't really a whole complex story behind this, but I was looking through some names and I found Jennalee, which I really thought was pretty. I got the last name Hessler while on vacation in Florida. I love staring out the window while in the car, and I was checking out some of the stores and restaurants as we passed them by. I saw this big red sign that said "Hessler: Hessler Forms and Labels" and I thought that would make a cool last name.

I'm afraid my name choice isn't very interesting either... it's just two names that I've been using for a very long in various arenas. It's just dumb luck that Sirius Black is one of my favorites. I think it has a nice ring to it though. /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Well, my first name just poped in my head. It has no meaning. About Aurorus, Aurora means "light", but I thought that it sounded more like a first name, so I desided to change it to Aurorus /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> It's as simple as that /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

Sieryn Atwater has been a Harry Potter fan character of mine for years now. I was trying to come up with a unique name for an RPG and Sieryn just sort of appeared in my mind. I'd also just read a book that had the last name Atwater in it... but I really don't remember which. I just thought the two names fit together, so... yeah. /happy.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="^_^" border="0" alt="happy.gif" />

Well, the Shelly part of my name is a nickname. It's a lot better than my real name, Shelby, and I'm trying to get people to start using Shelly since a lot of people where I live are named Shelby. Yeah, that really made no sense....
And McCall is really just a family name. Not my actual surname, though.

Rashanali (Shali) Conyero is actually an original character from the story my two friends and I are co-writing. We haven't had time to work on it for a long time, but you can find us under The DaVinci Sisters at fictionpress. And, yes, we all can write backwards like DaVinci (I've mastered cursive...). Not that any of you care... /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Kayshan is a name I thought I had made up (had never heard it before anyway but have seen it in cyberspace since then) and it just sorta resonated with me more than my real name, almost like that was the name I should have been born with.
Lupin is obviously from PoA, Professor Remus Lupin. I really liked that character, identified with his being outcast, knowing lots of stuff, and not thinking he was worthy of someone's love (no spoiler /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> ) I'm not like that now, but I do remember how it felt.
