Erm, I just kinda made it up. I've never heard of such a name as Aphelia before, although I read Eragon by Christopher Paloni (sp?) a bit after joining and came across the name Ophelia and I've seen a few Ophelias around here. Starr just sounded good with Aphelia. Actually, I had been talking with my friends about the Beatles like the day before. My favourite Beatle is Ringo Star because Ringo is such an awesome name. I mean seriously, Ringo, how much cooler can a name get? *g* But I changed the spelling from Star to Starr just to be different. Turns out, there's a whole family of HOL Starrs! *g* wOOt wOOt for Starrs! Oh yeah, and my middle name is Rochelle. I heard the name somewhere and thought it was cool, so I added it on.

My HOL name, Rhiannon Satsuki Keoko comes from a variety of sources.
The first name, Rhia, is the name of Merlin's sister, and while Merlin is one of my idols, I couldn't use the name, as it's male, so I settled for his sister, who has a prettier name in my opinion.
My middle name came to me when I was watching the credits of Inuyasha. Satsuki was the name of the person in Japan who played Shippou. Shippou is one of my favorite characters, and Satsuki is a beautiful name, so I picked that for my middle name.
My last name, Keoko came to me on the bus back from Camp. A boy my age was reading a book titled, "When My Name Was Keoko." I liked the name, and wanted to use it for my first name, but since it was male, I used it as my last name.
That's the orgin of my spiffy name. /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> Hope this fascinated you to the highest degree.

Okay here is the story behind my 'unique' name: My first name is a combination of my favortie movie character's first and last name Richard Kimble, from The Fugitive. My last name is a combination of my real name Emily and where my parents are from Chicago, Illinois. I am not sure when and why I put them together, but I have been using the name a lot in RPGs and I really like the way it sounds /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

My name...
I didn't want to use one of the maaaany role play aliases I already have... I was tired of those characters and their names especially.
So as I was sitting in front of the computer, pondering, I looked up and caught sight of a Phantom of the Opera snowglobe that I had on a shelf over the computer. I wanted my character to be a girl, and Christine is a great character, so it stuck.
For my last name I wanted something that reflected my Scottish heritage without using my actual last name, so I found McTague at a Scottish geneology site.
Thats it really.

Nepenthe Snowfrost
My name combo comes from two of my game names, and I just decided on the spot to put them together. I didn't really have any idea what to use as a wizarding name, but thought it would work in a witchy descriptive Harry Potter book way.
Nepenthe - I just really love this word. First saw it long ago while reading Poe. Nepenthes are carnivorous plants (and who wouldn't love that???). Nepenthe is also: a drug to drive away care and superinduce love/a magic potion to dispel woe. Sweeeet.
As my name, say it like this: nuh-PEN-they with more 't' than 'h'
Snowfrost - I love snow and frost, and frosty sparkling twinkling snow. So that's how this one came around. /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> Simple!
And together, I like the effect. Kind of like a type of snowfall that takes your cares away with it's magic beauty and quiet descent.
Sometimes I think it's obnoxious, but then I get over it.

Lyra Levski
My first name, Lyra, is after the constellation. Lyra of Vega, the constellation, has a beautiful, bittersweet story that goes along with it about a shepard and a princess who were seperated though they were in love. I love the name, and my friends and I actually all have constallation nicknames, and I am Lyra. :P
For my last name, I want something beginning with L for alliteration, as J.K. sometimes does with her names (ie. Dudley Dursley, Parvati Patil, etc). I also wanted a remote HP name that most people would not remember being in the books. So I chose Levski, the chaser from the Bulgarian National Quidditch Team.
And there you have it, Lyra Levski. :)

Aurora is my middle name, so that was a given, but I had a difficult time coming up with an intuitive surname that I liked. I didn't want a name that thirty others would lay claim to.
I was watching Buffy when I came up with the perfect name: Dawn Summers. Aurora=Dawn (actually, "sunrise" but...) and Sommerset is a variation of Summers. So there it is, my name.

Ruby Rossignol
Ruby Rossignol.
Not much there, unless you have heard of Rossignol ski boots or whatever. I don't even know if they still make them or not. *g* Anyways...
I got Ruby from my best friend in the whole entire world and forever and always and... ok I'll stop there, but there is more of a strange thing there. I almost used my real name, but then Ruby called while I was searching for an online Hogwarts, which is why I am here. She called right when I clicked sign-up, I saw the "choose a name" and Ruby instantly came to mind!
Then I wanted to think of a cool last name that began with the same letter as mine. I remembered when Ruby and I were younger and thought of the skis she always had lying in her backyard. So I asked her if she could ski and she no. I myself have never gone skiing, but I did a credit project for Muggle school last year and there was a Ski World store. Rossignol skis or whatever came right to mind, so that's why my name is:

well, my first name of Reinard came from a different spelling of Reginhard, which is a germanic mixing of Regin "advice" and hard "brave". together they typically denote a person who uses their mind over their fists.
the last part of my name is Corvus, which part of the scientific name for a raven. Ravens are my favorite animals. And Ravenclaw is my favorite house!!!

My name has been both my AOL name and E-mail for quite some time. I first learned of DirenGrey on a bus, to a Band compition. My friend gave me this cd and told me to listen to it. I like it, and the band's name was DirenGrey....they are Japanese Rock, and it stuck with me ever sence. /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

Fionnula Spink
I found out about HOL about a month prior to summer signups, so I had the opportunity to create my own take on a wizarding world sort of name. So, I spent hours on baby name sites looking for something that was out there-- but not too much so. I knew I didn't want to "copy" anyone from the books and use a forename or surname that was pre-existing.
I'd like to think that I hit the nail on the head. Fionnula Spink sounds (to me) like someone you might meet in the halls of Hogwarts. /happy.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="^_^" border="0" alt="happy.gif" />

Well... mine is not really as interesting as others, but let's do it.
Syn = I just like the way it's said. And it also reminds me of the 7 sins and, of course a sinner, which is always a cool thing.
Edwards = well, just decided to homenage that Johnny Deep character that had scissors intead of hands. I just thought he was sooo cool!
That's all for now!
