Seen and Unseen

Unless we want to watch a very long movie (and really, what big Harry Potter fan would not?), it is impossible to include each and every book scene in the movies. Sometimes, scenes from the books are either changed significantly, put in partially, include different characters, or completely missing.

I know that my biggest disappointment when seeing Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (my favorite book and movie!) was that the Quidditch World Cup match was not shown at all. I would also have loved to see the Weasleys picking up Harry from the Dursleys.

Which scenes from the books do you wish had been included in the movies?

For me, I would have loved to have seen the scene between Peeves and McGonagall from the order of the phoenix when he is trying to unscrew the chandelier in The Great Hall to fall on Umbridge and McGonagall informs him that he's unscrewing it the wrong way.

I can think of so many, but I would have loved to have seen Harry and Dumbledore staring at the Dark Mark while they flew towards Hogwarts on their borrowed brooms. Dumbledore's funeral would have been spectacular on film as well!

There is a very brief argument in Half-Blood Prince between Lupin and Tonks about their relationship after Fleur tells Mrs. Weasley she still wants to marry Bill, despite his condition. It's one of the many things I wish had made it to film.
