Chapters 26-38 of Wonder will be discussed in this thread.
Even though Auggie’s story can be sad, the book is full of humor. Were there any parts that made you laugh? Why is humour so important to this story?

Re: Wonder: Detention (Ch 64) - What I Miss Most (Ch 95)
The parts that make me laugh are August's little jokes. He is making fun of himself but he's okay with it because I think he's learning to be okay with who he is. But I sometimes wonder if the jokes he makes at his own expense causes subconscious harm. When I start to laugh, I have to think for a moment because I sometimes feel uncomfortable but then I realize that I have made jokes at my own expense before and I really do find them funny. It's a way of making a less than perfect existence livable and manageable.
