This motto asserts yourself of your desire to do things, to reach things. It is not others pushing you or motivating you but you yourself as the source of your motivation, your strength.
This one is for me and those who are struggling to keep their heads above water. Just a reminder - the hardest part is getting started when you are overwhelmed. But once begun, everything seems much more doable!

We decided to go with a motto which promotes the spirit of "keep going". When things go wrong, just continue to live and everything will come in place. Just like Harry Potter, who lived his school years in difficult times, with certain dark wizards going after him, with no parents, with loved people dying around him. But you know what? He kept going. He fell and he stood up. Continuously. Hogwarts was always his home, so is ours, as wizards and witches. So, yes, HOL WILL catch you if you fall.

The wonderful thing about HOL is that you can be whoever you want to be. You can be a Quidditch Player, a points hoarder, a Prefect, a Head of House, a Draco Malfoy, and genuinely you are accepted here.

PURPLE PANDA PANDEMONIUM
Motto: I always wanted to do that.
Our motto is loosely based on the famous Minerva McGonagall quote "I always wanted to use that spell."
The idea behind it, and why we believe it's a good motto is that it tells you to go out and do the things you always wanted to do. Be brave, be strong, and dive into new experiences because you want to. Don't give up on things or put them aside because of any obstacles you may come across.
Additionally, it tells you that you shouldn't have regrets. Even if things do not go as planned, something turns bad and the result is not pleasing, you can still be happy because you did something that you wanted to do. You fulfilled a wish of your own even though if everything didn't work out in the end.
If you can do today something you've wanted to do for a long time, then you should do it.
THE HAIRY GUM DROPZ
Our team's motto is "Live, Love, Learn, and BOT!!!!"
We chose that motto because 1. You should always live life to the fullest because there are many different stories and adventures to explore. 2. Life is nothing without love. 3. You can learn something from any and everyone. 4. Quidditch is not only important to my team but to the school in general.

Start slow, but let it go, end high and eat some Pumpkin Pie!
Everyone needs to get settled in, so if you don't earn that much points or be involved in things it is not bad. Just make sure you do in the end, because it is all good fun around HOL. And Pumpkin Pie, because... Just because!
THE TEAM WITH NO NAME
The Team With No Name has decided that a great motto for this school year is, "Fake it 'til you make it." This is a fitting motto because for a lot of things around HOL, well, you might have a sort of an idea of what to do, but if you've not done it before, you have to just muddle through and figure something out. HOL is a great way to learn new skills by accident, by faking it until you make it. And the motto is a wonderful way to remember that you don't have to know how to do stuff in order to do it.
