Mars has been the most visited planet in our solar System. So far, four missions with rovers landed on Mars, Sojourner, Spirit and Opportunity, Curiosity and as of February 18th 2021, Perseverance, lovingly nicknamed Percy. Rovers help scientists in their quest to understand what different parts of the planet are made of. It can drive around to different areas, studying the different chemicals in each rock, which can tell scientists something about the environments that changed that rock over time.

Design your own Mars rover. Give it a name and two magical twists that are completely up to you. You can complete the task in graphic form in which case you also need to write at least two sentences describing your image or you can also write about it, in which case, please do so in 120 words or more. Be mindful of HOL rules and that everything is of your own creation.

Post your rovers below (keep it 600x600 or less if you will do the graphic) by March 31st 11:59 pm HOL time to get 25 Hoots and 50 beans.

The name of the vehicle is Nirgali I. Nirgali is the ancient Babylonian god of Mars, thus seemed a fitting choice. The magical antenna on the right side of the vehicle sends out a stream of light to illuminate the planet's surface and any hidden pitfalls/traps. The apparatus on top of the vehicle have been enchanted to shoot flames at any potential threat that may be encountered. These flames may also be adjusted (via manual control) to a gentle warming setting that merely warms the planet's surface for safer exploration.
