Jupiter, also known as Jove, is the god of the sky and thunder, as well as the king of the gods in Ancient Roman religion and mythology. His identifying component is the thunderbolt and his animal is the eagle. His sacred tree was the oak. The Romans regarded Jupiter as the equivalent of the Greek Zeus.

With all the titles and might to his name, Jupiter has had quite a few adventures throughout the course of Roman Mythology. Take one or several of these myths and depict it in a poem or a song at least 12 lines long. The poem must be of your creation and abide by all HOL rules.

Post your poem below by September 30th 11:59 pm HOL time to get 15 Hoots and 50 beans.

The Saga of the Sun Prince

Spinning, turning, racing, burning
Uncontrolled and out of time

Stolen chariot, spawn of Phoebus
Burning Earth to win a bet

Mighty, Jupiter, come
Please save us!

Rivers ceasing, grasses parching
Dust clouds swirl and burn men's hearts

Darkness threatens, endless terror
Mighty Jupiter hear our cry!

Lighting, rainclouds
Prayers are answered

Earth is saved
The waters flow

Phaethon, Sun Prince doomed to perish
Death claims one and saves us all.

Tumbling in a downward spiral
Fiery chariot laid to waste

Jupiter's mercy is his fury
And the Sun Prince rides no more.
