However, points tend to change every day as more and more stuff gets submitted, so keep earning those points! This is only the beginning!

Art Department finished with its September projects, but you can still vote for them by October 14th. Since Halloween is coming around this month, the Art Department wanted a project that would be dark, but also inclusive to anyone not celebrating the holiday. They are doing an evil villain lair. Since it is also the middle of the semester and all, they also want people to showcase something that keeps them organized.

This month, the Library Department invites people to write about reunions and exploration. You have until midnight October 1st to submit for September prompts and can also still vote for March’s projects by October 15th.

Book Club is starting a four week long celebration of all the wonderful things that have been inspired by books on October 5th. Food, cosplay, fan films, roleplay, merchandise, it is all fair game. There are some spine chilling prompts in their subforums and a spooky edition of Book Trivia as well. The weekly page turning challenge of Quick Quotes is also ongoing and so are prompts in Ink Splatters and Quill and Ink. There are beans and awards to be earned!

Gryffindors are jumping headfirst into October with their annual Gryfftoberfest! Everyone was gathering in Gryffindor tower, the butterbeer was flowing, Sir Nick was warming up for his annual speech: in short, the traditional party was just about to get started. Then disaster struck! They discovered that the beloved Gryffindor door warden, The Fat Lady has vanished. They need all of HOL's help to track her down. Throughout the month of October, they are inviting you to go on an intrepid quest through Hogwarts to track down clues to her whereabouts by completing fun tasks and chatting to castle residents. Gryfftoberfest depends on it.

A new area opened in Gryffindor in September. You can check out their fresh roleplay section. Jump in with your character for many new adventures!

Also, the Paw Print is also accepting submissions for an issue themed around ‘patterns and rhythms’' with a deadline of October 23rd.

Fat Lady’s Portrait can also keep you entertained with discussions and general fun. If forum games are more your cup of tea, then join the lions in Peeves’ Place.

Hufflepuff opened their Creative Club to all HOL. Do a spot of traveling as they announce October's theme for Wonders of the World. Their paper, the Wizarding Times, is also open for submissions until October 15th.

Keep your eyes peeled on the Department of Huffle Games and Sports for fun October challenges. You can also always check the games and discussions in The Fireplace.

Middle of the month brings a special occasion to the house as the badgers will start with their traditional Huffleween.

Newly eagle-minted Prof. Rorey Padfoot is making an activity themed around Hocus Pocus. All HOL is welcome to participate! As always, you can also join us inside for good conversation in the Debate Club and celebration of music for Ravenclaws only in E=MC Hammer.

Ravenclaw's Alte's harvest issue has closed for submissions! Make sure to read the new issue once it comes out.

Slytherin will be hosting their annual Slyth-o-ween event beginning 5th October called Town Treats. This year's event will be taking a look at a trick or treating from a wizarding perspective. Their Read Along is currently discussing chapter five of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, and anyone can join in at any time!

Slytherin house newspaper, The SerpenTimes is due on October 15th. The theme is snake eyes and they are always looking forward to the submissions. You can reserve your idea here.

Our brothers and sister in green and silver also encourage all HOLers to join them in their clubs. Go to the Arcade for a change to win a joystick award and Puzzle Exchange to…exchange puzzles of all kinds!

We are ending our newsletter with HOLLERS news.October brings new challenges where you can try your hand at monthly puzzles. If you are a more artistic person, there are three tasks waiting for you in the Creative Outlet concerning planetary discovery of Venus. You can also try your quill at writing under constraint.

If you want to get more than Hoots and beans, you can always check Inspirational Categories where we accept any art or writing submission for some shiny awards. Do you want to relive memories of an HOL activity? Then The Scrapbook is a place for you.

Enjoy the rest of October and we will see you next month!
