Title - Good Girl, Bad Blood
Author- Holly Jackson
Genre - Mystery, Thriller
Series - Part II of III
Trigger Warning - The book contains mentions of bullying, SA, voilence, murder and drug abuse.
Synopsis-
The sequel picks up where the first book left off. Pip has now become an amateur investigator after publishing her podcast, A Good Girl's Guide to Murder, based on the events in the previous novel. While awaiting the verdict on the ongoing legal case against one of the previous perpetuator, Pip has promised herself that she will leave her detective days behind her after suffering a personal loss. However, when her best friend's brother goes missing, she finds herself back investigating the town's secrets. This time, though, the suspect is smart, and Little Kington's buried secrets will come crawling out.
Personal Opinion-
I had huge expectation from the second installment as the first one literally captivated me to no ends. While the storyline was engaging and the climax presented a realistic dilemma, I felt it lacked the character development and relationship depth that made the previous book so compelling. There were so many conflicts and questions whose answers were not that satisfactory. Several conflicts and questions were left unresolved, and it seemed like the story hastily moved on to the new case without fully addressing the emotional aftermath of the previous one. Nevertheless, the story was good, there were more inclusions of infographics which made it interesting for me.
