Thirteen Reasons Why - Jay Asher

Post by Louis Walles »

Title: Thirteen Reasons Why

Author: Jay Asher

Genres: Teen fiction

Short Summary of the story: When a school student, Hannah Walker, dies, she leaves 13 tapes she previously recorded. On the tapes, Hannah talks about different students who have hurt her in her life. The tapes change the lives of the students forever.

Good points/bad points: The book, as well as the series, resulted in many controversies. I am a huge fan of 13 reasons why, especially the series, so I can't tell you any bad points  I think this book is way more difficult to read than the series and its first season. I still recommend it but I think you need to have a slightly different approach to the book than to the series.
