Rosemary went to a school with her friends but then they closed down the school for her and her friends so she and her friends had to go to the white schools. J.J. got polio and so that meant that Rosemary was the only black girl in that school. People were mean to her but she made friends with Grace, which she never expected because Grace was a Hamilton and the Hamiltons are not that nice. But then all of her friends became friends.
