Book Review: I Survived the Hindenburg Disaster, 1937

Post by Mafalda Oswald »

Title: I Survived the Hindenburg Disaster, 1937
Author: Lauren Tarshis
Genre: Historical Fiction

If you want a nice easy historical fiction read, this book or one of the I Survived books would be the way to go. They are very good but are not difficult to read. In this book an 11 year old boy named Hugo and his family are taking a trip on the amazing Hindenburg zeppelin from Germany to New Jersey to be able to get back to their hometown in New York. They were originally living in Kenya for a year so his parents could study the animals there, but his sister Gertie caught a very bad illness and they needed to get back to the states right away. All was going well, until disaster stroked.
8/10
A very good book but not really detailed. It’s a easy and good read and provides some good information about the Hindenburg crash. If you have a free lazy day and want an easy read that you could probably finish in a day, I recommend this book or one of the I Survived books by Lauren Tarshis!
