Book Review: The Deceiver's Heart

Author: Jennifer A. Nielsen
Genre: Fantasy, Adventure
Summary:
This is the second book in The Traitor's Game series which is absolutely amazing! The second book follows Kestra (the heroine) as she continues to try and kill the evil Lord Endrick. Now that Kestra has magic, it's easier for her to do so but all of the people around her are worried that she will become corrupt because of the magic. The whole book revolves around the difficult relationship between Kestra and Simon as they are led down different paths.
Thoughts:
I thought this book was fantastic! Cliffhangers are annoying (and this ends in a cliffhanger as does the first book) so it can be a bit disappointing at the end when the problem is not solved once and for all. The way Nielsen writes is so intriguing and keeps the reader captivated until the end. I had a lot of trouble putting this book and the other two in the trilogy down for any period of time. The relationship that blooms between Kestra and Simon is constantly being troubled and new problems are arising that really propels the story forward. The world that is created is easy to follow along with and a perfect set up, always with new places to be explored! All in all a fantastic and captivating read!
