Around the World in Eighty Days - Jules Verne

Post by Louis Walles »

Title of the book: Around the World in Eighty Days

Authors: Jules Verne

Genres: fantasy, adevnture

Short summary of the story: Phileas Fogg and his newly employed valet Passepartout decide to try their powers and travel around the world in 80 days on a £20,000 wager (roughly £1.6 million today) set by his friends at the Reform Club. The story starts in London on Tuesday, October 1, 1872.

Good points / bad points: I found the book extremely fascinating and it was nice to read something which allowed me to visit different countries. Although, I had just one problem with the book. Especially the language used in the book. I expected the book to be written with the use of old English (the book was written in 1872) but I didn't know it's going to be actually that hard to read it. So I think that if you can overcome the issue with the language, you can actually enjoy this book.
