Book Review: Origins Of The Magdon

Post by Ivorie Windton »

Title of the book: Origins Of The Magdon: Vercovicium: Volume 1

Authors: Tobey Alexander

Series: The Magdon Series #1

Genres: Childresn, Young Adult, Mystery, Horror

Short summary of the story: This is an adventure type story about a boy named Archy. He ends up on a excavation of a Roman Fort called Vercovicium where he encounters some amazing and scary artifacts.

Good points / bad points: This was a pleasant book, kept my attention. I enjoyed the adventure and visual aspect of the story. The concept s quite original in my opinion. I have not read a story like this before actually. Some of the bad points were, some of the sentences were just off. They didn't read right, as if the writer put to much into the sentence. The story was forced and had minimal dialog unfortunately. I would also say this is much to complex for the age group it appears to be targeting.
