Book Review: The Heir

Post by Kate Rosaph »

Title of the book: The Heir
Author: Kiera Cass
Series: The Selection

The Heir is the fourth book of The Selection series. This book, unlike the first three which are about America's Selection story, is about America's daughter's Selection story. Princess Eadlyn, though she did not want to, has inherited her mother's crown. Thus, she must marry as she is expected to produce an heir. At first, she does not want to have a Selection and plans to try to scare the boys away. However, as the book progresses, she begins to care about the boys.

The thing I most disliked about the book was that she did not get to actually look through the applications and choose who her 35 potential suitors would be. Instead, she drew them from baskets and just relied on "fate and destiny" to find her a perfect husband. I also very much disliked Josie, Marlee's daughter. Though I did not enjoy the book as much as the first three in The Selection series, I look forward to reading the fifth book, The Crown.
