Ginny Weasley of the Harry Potter books. I was just reading the prompt and remembered her. One example of her talent would be that thing about the Bat-Bogey Hex! Oh, that is a very good revenge. :D

Moriarty from the Sherlock Holmes stories has sprung to mind. He always gets revenge on those who cross him and he has such smart and ingenious revengeful ideas that many people don't realise that he is behind them.

Beans are winging their way to people!

As many people’s minds turn to presents and keeping warm at this time of year, our next prompt is...

Most likely to knit you a scarf

For example: Angela from the Inheritance Cycle - She would whip one up in no time while giving you the strangest advice you’d ever received.

It's probably an easy answer but Molly Weasley would definitely knit you a scarf to go along with your jumper, especially if you mention that you do not have a scarf. She wouldn't let that slide, not at all.

Anne-Marie, that is brilliant! :)

*thinking* Oh, I know!

Miss Marple, of the many books and stories written by Agatha Christie. She was a prolific knitter, gifting many people with her creations, and was so often engaged in some sort of 'knitting' activity whilst solving the mysteries arising in St. Mary Mead (and all around the world).

Beans are on their way!

It’s nearly time to wave goodbye to 2022, so let’s end the month (and the year) on this timely prompt…

The character you’d most like to see in the New Year with

For example: Gandalf from the Lord of the Rings - He makes the most fantabulous fireworks, need I say more?

Piggybacking off your fireworks idea Professor, the Weasley twins would definitely have some good ones as well! I'd love to have them with me on NYE.

The character you’d most like to see in the New Year with ...

It depends on where I am, in the New Year? The first person I think of is in a movie, not in a book, so I cannot say that. However, I thought of someone who I think would definitely be a different sort of person.

Doctor Ian Malcolm of the Jurassic Park books. I think he would be fun to listen to, and maybe he would offer some spark of scientific knowledge as to the making of the fireworks and the history of the reason for them, in different cultures of the world. Or he could talk about dinosaurs and why it is very ill advised to clone them ...

Otherwise, I think that Rose Hathaway (of Vampire Academy fame) or Clary Sage (of the City of Bones saga) could be fun to be with, because who knows what sort of adventures would ensue!

Happy 2023, all!

This week's prompt and example are from Prof. Tarma Amelia Black who's off on a new years adventure at the moment. Beans are on their way!

From Tarma:
Depending on where we live in the world, many of us have just had our Winter Solstice/Christmas/Kwanzaa/Hanukkah celebrations. Some people really enjoy them, and others do not!

Most likely to say "Bah, humbug!"

For example: Voldemort, in the Harry Potter stories, because he probably does not enjoy a warm, joyous gathering of like minded people, and would probably rather cast curses than charms at them. (Also, of course, Ebenezer Scrooge in the novella A Christmas Carol) by Charles Dickens.)

No 'Bah Humbug' folks thought of? Well, maybe this week's prompt will spark some ideas!

A popular activity at New Years is New Year resolutions -- of changes you intend to make and then follow through on.

Most likely to forget what their New Year's Resolution was.

For example: Again, I go to the Harry Potter stories. I think that Ron Weasley would probably make a ton of resolutions that he fully intended to put into effect, and then, literally, forget what they were.

Oh Pippin from LotR would definitely make New Year resolutions and then forget what they all were a week later xD

Beans are sent. :)

It's January! In the northern hemisphere, depending on how the weather is, people have snow! Snow snow lovely snow.

Who would want to go on a skiing vacation (either downhill or cross country)?

For example, think of Lyra Belacqua, in His Dark Materials (by Philip Pullman), who has the sense of adventure to go exploring and also has an independent streak!

No one wanted to go skiing ...

Our January prompts ends with this ...

Yes, January is the beginning of a new year. Who would be someone very glad to put the past behind and continue on, with a new leaf?

For example: Draco Malfoy, who had been controlled and manipulated into being, and acting as, a person he did not enjoy or admire. I think he'd feel very grateful to have all of that behind him, and happy to start being himself, to find out who and what he truly is.

Sabrina, from the Sisters' Grim.
