Re: Flash Fiction Round 4
The Princess immediately transformed into a swan, but there was something shaped like a crown on her head. The Prince transformed into a spider and spun a web around himself. The guards did not know the animal forms of the royal Animagi, and kept looking for them all day. (49 words)

It was finally time for the Crown to end the rebellion before it became more prominent. They called upon their web of alliances to get it done under the guise of "Operation Swan." They soon received word of triumph from the operation and expertly covered it up. (47 words)

Beans have been sent!
Our next lot of words are…
ladder, vial, bounce
The apprentice slumped against the shelves for a moment, the ladder creaking. Knowing that the potioneer would soon start yelling, he reached for the vial of swirling silver vapour. It slipped through his tired fingers and he watched in numb resignation as it bounced off the floor and shattered. (49 words)

It wasn’t my fault, honest! On a dare, I attempted to bounce the vial of elixir without breaking anything. Just my rotten luck, it bounced and got stuck in the rafters. My boss was not happy at the hijinks so I got a ladder to retrieve it. Sorry, Boss! (49 words)

All day was wrong but the worst was in Potions. She carefully added one drop of alihotsy juice into the mix and she noticed the vial had been renamed ... Her hand jerked -- 'splash!' -- and the 'new' creation splattered onto the ladder, which then merrily bounced off and out the window. (50 words)

The Honeydukes sweet seller climbed the ladder and removed the vial from its shelf. The vial escaped with a bounce, refusing to be sold. With a flick of his wand, he made the vial bound in lots of gauze and rope, and took it to the shop front to sell. (49 words)

She grabbed the wand Ollivander displayed before her yet again, giving it a swift flick, testing its compatibility. The nearby ladder shifted, and some wand boxes bounced off their shelves, sliding across the floor. "At this rate, I'll need a vial of Felix Felicis to find the right wand!" (49 words)

Here come the beans
Our final words for January are…
camera, arrow, chess
“One chess board, two cameras, skis, four juggling balls, a croquet mallet and a bow and quiver of arrows.” She glowered at the pile of stuff they’d turned out of the cupboard. “You realise this isn’t quite what I had in mind when I suggested you found a hobby?” (49 words)

I grabbed a camera and began recording the game of wizard's chess. A knight moved forward on its own, in response to the player's command, and nocked an arrow on its bow, swiftly shooting and taking down the opponent's bishop. (40 words)

She could hear the camera clicks and the chess game going on in the background. She focused on her breathing and aim, blocking everything else out, releasing the bow's string, and sending the arrow flying straight into the target. She watched as it hit the bullseye, winning first place. (49 words)

With all the concentration of a chess game, the girl let her bow’s arrow fly toward the target. The crowd applauded heartily as her shot rang true. Camera at the ready, I captured the moment forever. Her skill, and my picture would make us both famous..just wait and see! (49 words)

"I shot an arrow in the air. Where it lands I know not .... OH NO!" The newbie archer watched, horror struck (and as cameras zoomed in on the action) where a couple of top notch chess players were finishing up their game on the patio next to the shooting range. (50 words)

She manipulated the camera like a weapon.
Not intending to harm, but in the art of a long practiced and honorable craft. The bow and arrow used to shoot into my heart, capturing my soul. A warring dance of chess, where my king’s destiny would become bowing to her lens. (50 words)
