Re: Flash Fiction
The baby crawled across the library floor, skirting around a fleet of random books that had fallen from the shelves. I threw my hands up in dismay at the chaos and wondered aloud how I had come to be cursed with such ill-fortune. A storm, a hurricane...what next?!! (48 words)

Beans are sent for last week.
Our last words for August are:
book, flew, purple
For example:
The night sky looked purple tonight. I wondered what kind of omen that was ... I'd never seen a purple sky before. I snapped my fingers and the appropriate reference book took itself off the shelf and flew to me. (39 words)

Re: Flash Fiction
As the book flew through the air in my general direction, the air bled purple, and midnight blue, mottled currents of the raging storm brewing inside my heart. How had it come to this? Once the best of friends, now the bitterest of enemies. Silently, I left the room. Goodbye. (50 words)

Re: Flash Fiction
I was scribbling furiously on my book, still annoyed with Gracia who had spread fake news about me. I tore the page I'd scribbled on, formed a ball of paper, then tossed it into the air, and watched as it flew gracefully toward the purple trash bin. [47 words]

Book, flew. Purple
The woman curled her fingers, purple smoke circling them as she lifted the medical dummy in the corner into the air. With a snap of the wrist, the dummy flew, crashing into the wall opposite. She grinned, clutching the book to her chest. And they said she couldn't do magic. (50 words)

Re: Flash Fiction
As she ran her fingers across the forbidden spines, a book, purple in colour, fell from the top shelf landing with a deep thud at her feet. The cracked aging pages flew open without a breeze. She reached down for it; the words begging for her to read. [48 words]
