This is an homage to my favourite magical drink... butterbeer! I've seen many iterations of butterbeer IRL, and I'm sure you have too. This latest one is from a local café, and they crafted a butterbeer latte. It looks just as good as it tastes!


Have you seen any places serving butterbeer lately? Have you tried them? What about making it yourself? I'm interested to see what other butterbeers there are in the wild!

We do not eat out much, so I have not seen any place that has a version of butterbeer. I have seen recipes for butterbeer online that look yummy. That latte also looks delicious, but I am not allowed to have caffeinated drinks. I hope you enjoyed it!

I have yet to try butterbeer. I would like to sometime, the latte you have looks delicious.

I myself desperately want to try butterbeer. The Latte looks amazing and am sure tastes just as.

I have not ordered any Butterbeer online, nor have I had the opportunity to try the real thing at Universal Studios.

However, I have made it myself twice, and there is some in my fridge right now!

The first time making it, I used melted butterscotch chips.. and well.. it didn't turn out too well. As a Canadian living in America, it can get frustrating going to the grocery store as Butterscotch is not so easily available in the states as it is in Canada.

I did manage to find some finally, in the ice cream topping section of a random grocery store, and once I made it with the proper Butterscotch, it was great! It was all the buttery and carbonated flavour I was expecting!

I know this will sound odd, but I don't like the idea of "butter" beer. I don't like beer, and I am not big on adding butter to anything I drink. I'm sure someone will explain that it's not made that way. but I dunno.

I have a standard recipe for butterbeer that is mostly cream soda and tastes delicious (and I think fits what Harry Potter, Winky, etc actually drank), but... it's very different from the others I've seen made in the Muggle world!

That said, ten years ago when studying in England the local famer's market in London had a very different version of Butterbeer (I would get it while racing from econometrics discussion section right before it closed and then get back to my dorm for dinner)... I'll just say that that version was not sweet at all!

The closest I've come to butterbeer in the wild was a recipe in an unauthorized Harry Potter fan guide when I was about 12. I've since lost that book so I can't even check it out now but I may look up one on the internet and try and find one that's good haha
