Things your pets do

Post by Mia Fountain »

What are some odd, quirky, or amusing things your pets do? Or, if you don't have pets, something you have seen an animal do that has amused you?

One of my cats likes to reach out and lightly swat me to let me know she wants to be petted. One of the dogs that visits my house a lot, always has to run on top of the pool cover (it is a safety cover that is bolted down) or in puddles, but can't stand going for a swim or having a bath.

Every night my cat gathers all of her toys from around the house and puts them in her food/water bowls. During the day she takes them all out of her bowls and places them randomly throughout the house with the exception of her orange mouse - this one is her favorite and is always put back into her bed during the day.

The first couple of times she did it, I googled it to make sure she wasn't a psycho. Now, I just accept it as a thing she does.

My ferret Thunder is really smart. She knows how to open doors and how to unplug things. The weirdest thing, however, she has done was to manage to count the exact amount of sweets. She then 'took' 3 candies for herself (we obviously took it away from her) and 3 for me.

This is a good one!
One of my cats is really old and I must say that all the years mainly around humans really thaught her some things. She can now open doors and even eats using her paws to pick up food and put it in her mouth. It is interasting to watch how can pets develop.

I have three dogs and they all have their quirks, but the most interesting one I think is the one my 2-year-old husky learned from my 3.5-year-old lab mix, which is when they want to go out they will jump off the bed, staring at me for a few, and then jump back on the bed, and then jump back off, etc. They do this because they know I'm a light sleeper and it wakes me up and I can't ignore it! lol
Another thing my smaller dog does is play with her food before she eats it. She will take a piece in her mouth, throw it up, run after it, pounce on it, and THEN eat it.

Our newest resident in my household, Kemi the cat, is obsessed with getting belly rubs. But only on the rugs in the houses. She’ll speed through the room or the house until she reaches the rug, and flip over and meows like crazy. Actually, she’s quite a talky cat but I find it mostly adorable. Unless it’s 5 in the morning and she wants breakfast.

I have a husky that absolutely won't just relax and stay still. The most assuming case of this is when she eats. She will eat a mouthful at her bowl, do a lap around the place, then go back to her bowl to repeat.

I have bunny named Lily, she has this black and white ball. She likes to roll it around the room like a little footbal player, but the weird thing is that she only does that when somebody is looking at her : D she never touches that ball if nobodys watching. :D

The latest is my cat chilling in the rose garden and chatting the birds up. They literally go sit next to him and chat with him. It's so cute and weird. No fear from the birds and all chill from my cat..

I had a dog and he was my best friend. My guy was treated like a king and was definitely stubborn at times. My grandpa made sure that he got everything. He would sit on the bed all day long and not listen to anyone except my grandpa, mom, myself and uncle. At times he wouldn't listen to me as well. He would play all day long and was probably the most dramatic and chaotic dog that I had ever met.
