Favorite Winter Activity

Post by Emily Spencer »

Admittedly, I am not the biggest outdoor person around, but there are still plenty of winter activities to enjoy inside. Cooking, of course, and curling up with a good book and a cup of cocoa probably tops my list. But, I also enjoy playing board games with the hubs and kiddo. I do love the snow and on the odd times we get enough of it, my daughter and I take the opportunity to go for a nice walk and toss snowballs at each.

What are some of your favorite things to do in winter? Have a cup of cocoa and tell us all about it!

As a Canadian, I can list endless winter activities! Lol! However my favourite would be sledding. Over the years, I have gone to many many hills and sledding spots, and there is one thing that sucks about it, WALKING BACK UP THE HILL  So, I am so glad that we live in a world where muggles have created these lifts to lift you back up the hill. There were so many treks as a kid walking up those hills where I wished I could magically appear back up at the top, however I now realize it was great exercise! I would love to go sledding for as long as my body possibly can!

I am a bear when it comes to winter and like to sleep through most of it. We also don't have snow in my area in winter, just cold dreary dryness, and our homes aren't isolated so I like to just cuddle up with coffee or cocoa and play video games under a nice blanket. Food is also a must so some nice meal cooking or baked goods are a must do. Other than that, we remain mostly in our little hobbit hole.

My favorite winter activity is getting into a cuddly blanket, sipping hot chocolate, and watching a movie.Brownie points (literally) for brownie milkshake and your friend joining in.

In Uruguay, we don't have many winter activities per se. We don't have snow or places where to do some winter sports, so everything must be more homemade. Luckily, we have some holidays in July, two weeks to be exact, so I spend lots of time in bed, catching up with some series or playing in my Nintendo Switch. That's what I mostly do as my favourite winter activity.
