Re: Books vs. Movies?

I think that is a good way to look at it, saying that one would like to watch movies, as long as the acting is good. But, personally, I have always preferred books over movies. I just don't have the patience to watch a plot unfolding visually sometimes, and I hate having to miss a few parts because I was lost thinking. And, if someone talks when I am watching a movie, well that's a disaster if I like the movie, and if I don't like the movie, I will happily continue the conversation and even completely veer off - topic with the movie just playing as background noise.
With a book, one has the freedom to take their own pace, pause and overthink without having to hit the pause button or annoy others, and coming back to a book to read it is much more hassle-free than arranging a gadget to watch a movie.
I barely ever watch movies, and sometimes I will even just read the plot summary from Wikipedia and skip the movie altogether, unless it's very interesting. If there is a book that I have already read, I am usually no longer curious about the movie. But, I watched Harry Potter because it made me that big of a fan that I HAD TO change preferences for this insane fan-creating experience of it.

Hi friends!

I prefer books when I can, then follow up with the movies if there is an adaptation. Always the book first though because movies usually leave out a lot of details from the books.
