Hello! My name is Galena May. I am a Ravenclaw. I am a first year student who is now doing my first spring term and second ever term at Hogwarts. I am a Muggle healer by profession and first thought I was magical when I realized how many times I got things accidentally done. I think HOL is the place to hone that magic and make the best of my ability. Thankfully, I received my Hogwarts letter on time but only got to HOL after a long time, after I learned to believe that the letter was real and not a scam. I was an adult by the time I believed in Hogwarts and found myself here. But, HOL accepted me, thanks to HOL. I am enjoying the community here and I think the staff members are great people. I live in Indonesia and I am likely to be a half-blood although my family themselves don't know their background. In any case, I am so happy to notice that the bloodline prejudice of the wizarding world is no longer overtly visible, at Ieast on HOL.

As for why I am taking this class, I think it is a wise decision to learn the trade of wand-making, and, of course the art of it as well, as well as get to know my wand and my relationship with my wand better as that will help me better understand the source of my magic and the tool that channels it so that I can use it best and with maximum effect and I think this class will provide clues on that front. I may also be looking forward to selling wands in the future, if I can't do anything else in the wizarding world, who knows! Although, I am pretty sure that no one will prefer buying from me over buying from Ollivanders'. I may have to negotiate the prices on that front. I also think that it is a wise idea to try to make a wand for my own use, and the novelty of saying "I made my wand", rather than where I bought it from, appeals to me. But, I also believe in Ollivander's adage - The wand chooses the wizard, therefore, I may have to make a few or several wands with myself in mind before one of them chooses me for its owner.
