I was wondering today - what is your favourite style of game, and how do you usually play that kind of game?
I am a huge fan of social deduction games / "try to understand people's thinking process" games (with some of my favourites being Town of Salem, the board game Insider and the board game Codenames). As for my gaming style... well, I tend to be very aggressive when playing, pushing for some outlandish deductions and trying to latch onto anything that I can to try and build up a case. I was thinking today about the fact that there are many ways to play our favourite game genres (you can play a shooter game strategically or rely on your skills / you can play a puzzle by trying different possibilities as you go or by mentally eliminating impossibilities...) and how that tells a lot about our personalities.
Let me hear it from you. What kinds of games do you usually play, and how do you usually play them?

Re: Game Style / Gaming Style
I think the best of the games I like to play is a type Open world Rpg sandbox. Although I love puzzle and search games too. I describe the sandbox games purely due to the fact that I will absolutely always be entertained by the complete and utmost randomness of events that the Ai can muster up when entering an area. The best to describe this is for instance with far cry or valheim. I would show up somewhere and for the better term "all chaos would break loose" before I even got to interact with anything. NPC's would just do whatever and it can be so absolutely funny! It brings a sense of surprise and randomness to a game. I love to explore and go wherever I like, love to build a home base and love the art in the "search" and "puzzle" games I play.
I can spend a good 200 to 400 hours on a game just exploring, trophy hunting and enjoying the beautiful sounds and scenery depending on the game. I also love board games, especially the fantasy role play and immersive games and when we "break" the rules in order to make it more funny. Although I can be good at combat games, I love stealth or casual exploration more. I like to appreciate a game in its entirety.

I enjoy a variety of genres of games, including open world sandbox, roleplaying, strategy, games where your choices affect parts of the game, and turn based games.
Some of my favourite games are games are games like Skyrim and The Witcher. I like to explore the area while completing quests. While playing I like to try to earn achievements and complete as many quests as I can.
I enjoy playing board games and card games with my family members, usually we play games like uno or cards against humanity. In uno I tend to be an aggressive player, while also thinking about what cards the opposing players have remaining. In cards against humanity I usually try to put cards together that make some sense and are funny.

I really love playing role-playing games. And RPGs can come in many styles too! I also enjoy more open world games and turn based (though not as much). Games like Minecraft are fun to play with other people but games like Breath of the Wild and the Like a Dragon series are more my speed. My favorite games are Kingdom Hearts 2 and Stardew Valley and those games have very different styles haha.
I have recently really gotten into TGC Shop Simulator and Placid Plastic Duck Simulator. One is where you run a card shop and the other is basically just watching plastic ducks hang out in a pool and waiting to RNG to make things happen haha!

I like roleplaying and simulation games. Caius mentioned social deduction games (no offence Caius, but I think that your strategy can get the wrong person eliminated) - I play those as well, one of my favorites being Super Sus. My strategy in social deduction games depends on my role of course but in general if my role is on the protagonist side I usually tend to observe without attracting attention and throw in insights that others are least likely to notice or that are missed. If my role is that of the bad guy, I make my best attempt to attract the least attention possible and/or pretend that I am suspicious of someone else.
