Anyone picked up this game? :D

I bought it on the release day, last Friday, and only have been able to get 12 hours into it so far, but I'm really enjoying it!

I played Oblivion for a bit last year, but wasn't too thrilled by it. The controls were wonky to me (more for console users and not PC users) and it was difficult to follow quest objectives and not to mention the very repetitive dungeon scenarios.

Skyrim, however is gorgeous. The environments and dungeons are well developed and the questlines seem easier to follow. Controls are still best for console users, but they seem a little less clunky and laggy compared to Oblivion. After the tutorials were completed, I had few problems with game controls.

If you've never play Elder Scrolls, they are a bit of an open-ended RPG. You can explore anywhere and anything. You can play the game any way you like... as a thief or as a honorary citizen. There is quite a lot to do and explore, so it doesn't get boring quickly like some stream-lined RPGs can be.

In Skyrim, the realm (which the game is aptly named after) is at war. Your character is kind of thrown into it when something pretty awesome happens and, well... I don't want to spoil it. I really enjoyed the opening bit of the game though. Puts you right in the middle of the action and is rather exciting.

If I didn't have responsibilities in real life, I definitely could spend several hours of my day on the game. It's highly addicting! :)

I also picked up Skyrim on release date, been waiting so long for it! And OMG, this game rocks.

I've never been much of a gamer, Oblivion was the first game I really got into, so I absolutely loved it. Maybe because I didn't have any other frame of reference, idk.

Skyrim of course is way better than Oblivion, my only complaint is that there is SO much to do and investigate that it's very easy to get distracted by random things. So far I've clocked about 40 hours, which my bloodshot eyes can totally attest to @.@. Not entirely sure how I've managed that seeing as I work and have a child, so can only play at night. But suffice to say sleep and I are fast becoming strangers.

So far I've completed the main quest, and the College of Winterhold quests, and am currently working on driving the Empire out of Skyrim :P Haven't done a lot of the day to day stuff as yet although I did get distracted last night by running around finding alchemy ingredients.

SPOILER ALERT:
OMG, the dungeons crawls are EPIC in this game! Dwarven ruins pwn Aelyid (sp) ruins. I mean in Oblivion you could clear a dungeon/fort/ruin in 15 minutes max, this one it's more like hours for some of the big ones, and the enemies in them.....woah. I did not die this much in Oblivion. And fighting dragons.....DRAGONS!!!! I am so in love with this game.

My son is a big gamer, and he's been being absorbed into the world of Skyrim since he got it on release day. I love the music, and it all looks beautiful, but I specifically wanted to share this: He reached a point where he had to pass a challenge to gain entrance into the College of Mages in Winterhold. He passed the test, and as he walked into the college, he sang so I could hear, "I got into Hog...warts! I got into Hog...warts!"
